Overview

HammackJ.com is a static website that collects minimal data. Your privacy is important, this policy explains what is collected, why, and how it is handled.

What We Collect

Analytics

None. This site runs no analytics or tracking scripts of any kind, and sets no analytics cookies.

Cookies

  • Theme preference, A localStorage entry stores your light/dark mode choice. This stays on your device and is never sent to a server.

Server Logs

Standard web server access logs may record your IP address, request path, and user agent. These logs are retained for a limited period and are used for security, debugging, and to produce aggregate counts of which pages are read and which countries they were read from.

Those counts are aggregate only. Your IP address is used to work out a country and is then discarded; no city, region or finer location is ever recorded. Countries with only a handful of visitors are grouped together rather than listed, so that a single reader cannot be picked out of the numbers. No profile of any individual visitor is built or stored, no raw IP address is kept beyond the log retention period described above, and readership across this site and my other sites is never linked together.

What We Do Not Collect

  • No account registration or login is required.
  • No personal information (name, email, address) is collected through normal site use.
  • No payment information is processed on this site.
  • No data is sold to third parties.

Third-Party Services

This site integrates with external services that have their own privacy policies:

  • YouTube, Embedded video players are subject to Google’s Privacy Policy.
  • Ko-fi, Donations are processed through Ko-fi’s platform.

Links to external wikis and item databases are ordinary links: nothing is requested from those sites until you choose to follow one. Item artwork and the webfont are served from this domain rather than loaded from elsewhere, so neither involves a third party.

Aside from the YouTube player on video pages, viewing this site makes no request to any server other than this one.

Your Rights

You can:

  • Clear local storage, Use your browser settings to clear local storage for this site at any time.
  • Request data deletion, If you believe any personal data has been collected, contact us and we will address it promptly.

Children’s Privacy

This site is not directed at children under 13. No personal information is knowingly collected from children.

This policy may be updated as the site evolves. Changes will be noted on this page with an updated revision date.
