Master Yael - SK / MNK / SHM - d4 solo
Master Yael at difficulty four with Shadow Knight, Monk and Shaman, run in offensive stance with Overchannel and the damage over time line. It parses at 617 DPS over 72,000 damage, the pet adds 109 on its own, and I took about 10,000 damage without really noticing. It is one of the best builds I have played so far.
Master Yael at difficulty four with Shadow Knight, Monk and Shaman, after finishing difficulties zero to three on the same fight without paying much attention. The build is the point. Earlier groups gave me around 150 DPS on a Paladin and on Warrior, Bard, and here I turn on auto attack and see 400 without straining. The whole fight parses at 617 DPS over 72,000 damage, I took about 10,000 and barely noticed, and I come away thinking this is one of the best builds I have played.
The Setup
Lazy on purpose, and still fast.
- Shadow Knight, Monk and Shaman, and I had already done difficulties zero to three on Master YaelEverQuest LegendsMaster YaelElemental WizardLevel56ZoneThe Ruins of Old PaineelLoc: (800, 200)AC478HP regen60Mana regen29Health: measured, per difficultyd0 31,049 (30,305 to 31,793) · 11 kills · hit 800d1 34,688 (33,629 to 35,747) · 11 kills · hit 840d2 51,987 (48,748 to 55,226) · 12 kills · hit 940d3 70,510 (66,525 to 74,495) · 9 kills · hit 983d4 74,822 (70,809 to 78,835) · 11 kills · hit 1,026Per round2Speed83%SpecialUnmezzable, Summon, See Invis, Cazic Touch, Slowable without paying attention. It was that simple.
- The DPS gap is the story. I was putting out about 150 on a Paladin and on Warrior, Bard. Here auto attack alone gets me 400 with no effort.
- I upgraded Blood Moon to level 10 last night. It was plus six, and a plus four from Hate plus two sevens got it there. That is a small gain next to the other builds, and I do not think it matters much.
- Offensive stance with OverchannelEverQuest LegendsOver ChannelCast spells have a -150 resist adjust plus another -15 for every non-hybrid caster class at a cost of 10% of the mana cost in endurance.TypeInvocationClasses: CLR PAL RNG SHD DRU BRD SHM NEC WIZ MAG ENC BST Reuse: 6s the whole fight, and I never switched. Being offensive all the time also adds to my chance to hit.
- Effort changes the numbers. I buffed on difficulty zero and did not buff again until difficulty four, and I am extremely lazy when I do these. I try not to try too hard.
The Fight
Slow him, stack the damage over time effects, then keep them rolling.
- Slow Yael first. Then Envenomed BoltEverQuest Legends

The caption says "Huma" and "Puma", and I am reading both as this spell. It parses at 44 DPS, and he died just as it was running out. - The meter shows 557 early on, then 634 later, and at one point I read 700. The kill timer was somewhere around a minute and 45 seconds.
- Slow costs me DPS. I have not studied how to handle it, so I spam the Cloak of FlamesEverQuest Legends
Cloak of FlamesMAGIC ITEMSlotBACKAC10HP50AGI+9DEX+9Fire+15Haste+36%Weight0.1SizeMEDIUMClass: ALLRace: ALLSource: Nagafen's Lair, Lord Nagafen, which flashes on and off. It shares a button with Life Tap. I may be able to drop that, but I do not know that it would work. - Refresh Envenomed Bolt, Odium and Plague as they drop, and recast them as you go. That is where the sustained damage comes from.
What the Parse Says
617 DPS, and the damage over time effects are the backbone.
- 617 DPS and 72,000 damage, against 10,000 taken. I used Life Tap a little, mostly to keep spamming the cloak on the same button.
- The top two damage effects did 90 DPS and 71 DPS. Slashing strikes did 105, so for the first time my cuts beat my best damage over time effect. My left hand did 95.
- The right hand is the biggest hitter, the left hand second, then Envenomed Bolt and everything else.
- Harm Touch parses at 43 DPS. Separately there were two weapon effect activations on the left hand and five on the primary weapon.
- The life sucking embrace landed four hits for about 800 healing, which is not much. I am reading that name as the captions have it.
- The same fight on lower difficulties read 567, 617, 561 and 560. The captions blur which difficulty is which, so treat those as a range around 560 to 617.
The Pet
Treat it as another damage over time effect.
- The pet did 109 DPS, more than Envenomed Bolt and more than my main attack. Most of that is Spirit of the Puma, which went off 29 times, and one of those was resisted.
- It is holding EarthshakerEverQuest Legends
EarthshakerATTUNABLE LORE EQUIPPED PLACEABLESlotPRIMARYSkill2H SlashingDMG37DLY70Ratio0.53STR+6STA+6DEX-5Weight16SizeGIANTClass: BER PAL RNG SHD WARRace: ALLEffect: Earthquake (Combat, Casting Time: Instant) at Level 45Source: The Ruins of Old Paineel, Master Yael plus 7. I did not know it had one, and I am not sure it is a good weapon for the pet. I meant to give it other gear but I was too lazy. - Earthshaker has an Earthquake effect at level 45. The pet is not at that level yet, and going by what I said, one more level would unlock it and add area damage.
- It also threw ice spears a few times, for around 900 damage in total. That is not bad for how rarely it did it.
- I will need the weapon again. The next group is Warrior, Necromancer and Shaman, so it goes back in the bag until then.
Hit Chances and Defence
Good, and I want it better.
- I had a 75% chance to hit, helped by the offensive stance. Some dodges and parries from him pulled it down and I had a few misses.
- Yael hit me 56% of the time and missed 24%. I blocked 8% and dodged 7%, with the rest split among smaller outcomes.
- In game I had 751 accuracy and 527 evasion. My armor was at 519 against a soft limit of 439, as I read it. I cannot vouch for those two exactly.
- The Monk is giving this build real armor and evasion. The indicator goes green, which I think comes from the Monk weight, and I expect the comparison fights to show it when I swap to a Warrior.
- I want to be hit less than half the time against most mobs. That means more armor class, agility and strength, plus more chance to hit.
Healing and Uptime
I did not really try.
- I put a heal over time on at the start and lived off it, plus Life Tap or Harm Touch. The caption's name for it is garbled, so I leave it unnamed here.
- It lasts about 60 seconds and works out to a free 200 health, which is fine for any boss fight where you are not moving much.
- The Cloak of Flames spam heals me by accident because of how my hotkeys are set. It is on the same button as Life Tap.
- The timeline shows one stance for the whole fight. There was one gap of about five seconds in Envenomed Bolt, and a small overlap on Odium where I recast it on the add.
- Casting stops my weapon hits. If I stop to cast, my 105 DPS main hand does nothing, which is why damage over time effects suit this build so well.
Where This Build Stands
Reliable, and an open invitation.
- I think this is one of the best builds I have played so far. There are no complaints, and it delivers far more damage than anything I have run before.
- Every build I have tried against difficulty four has been a walk in the park, and I believe every build can do it.
- If you have a build you think is good, tell me. If you have one you think cannot finish any difficulty four content, tell me that too and I will try to make it work.
- The next run is Warrior, Necromancer and Shaman, and the real comparisons between these fights will show up then.
Yael with Shadow Knight, Monk and Shaman
- Slow him first, before anything else lands.
- Cast Spirit of the Puma at the very start so it runs the whole fight.
- Envenomed Bolt, Odium and Plague, cast in reverse order to switch bars less, then Harm Touch.
- Stay in offensive stance with Overchannel. Do not switch.
- Keep the damage over time effects rolling. Casting costs you weapon hits, which is why the damage over time effects pay off.
- Click the Cloak of Flames when slowed. It shares a button with Life Tap, and that heals you by accident.
- Expect around 600 DPS and a kill in around a minute and 45 seconds.

Congratulations on completing Master Yale difficulty 4 solo as Shadow Knight, Monk, and Shaman. Today we will deal with this guy. Just finished levels zero to three. Didn’t even pay attention. It was that simple. So this build is quite powerful. Uh-huh. There are no complaints about him. It delivers insane DPS compared to anything I’ve played before. I mean, I was giving out about 150 DPS for a paladin, or a warrior-bard. And here I just turn on autoattack and get 400 without even straining. So, as you can see, the difference is significant. Okay, let ‘s slow down Mr. Yale. Let’s finish him off. That’s it. Slowed down . Now let’s use Invenom Bolt, odium, and plague. Then I’ll put Mallow on it. I do it in reverse order to switch racks less. Done. Now let’s switch to Flighty Fiend. We heal quickly. And we return to the goal. OK. I’m using Slugs, and we’re going to apply Harm Touch. That’s it. Good. So, we have 557 DPS. ODM will end soon. That’s it. We update, and that ‘s it. OK. We are slowing down. Therefore, our DPS will be slightly lower. Of course, I haven’t studied the treatment of slowing down. So I have to spam with a cloak. As you can see, my red cloak is constantly turning on and off. It might be possible to remove it, but who knows if it will work. It’s on the same button as Life Tap. So, we’re updating Venom Bolt , Odium, and Plague. I, I don’t see. I seem to be losing my vigilance. I don’t know if it’s still there. Okay, fine. Can we stack five? There are five. Ideally. 634 DPS. 1 minute and 34 seconds. 1 minute and 45 seconds. That’s it. He is almost ready. Let’s take a quick screenshot. That’s it. The belt fell out and something else. Now let’s review the logs. Let’s get rid of this before it attacks. But you see how fast…Oh, I dealt 700 DPS on that thing! Difficulty four, by the way. Difficulty four. Keep this in mind. And we killed him just as Puma was running out. So, okay, let’s sum it up. So, let’s move on to meetings here. You see, that’s all I did today—got my little, well, my little gem. Good. So, for Master Yale at Difficulty Level 4, what was there? 617 DPS. D3—567 DPS. D2—617 DPS. D1—561 DPS. And without anything—560. Now, all this difference depends on how much effort I put in, right? For example, I used a buff on D0 and didn’t buff until D4, right? So keep things like that in mind. I’m extremely lazy when I do this, meaning I don’t try to make an effort, you know? I try not to try too hard. So let’s take a look at this. 617 DPS, 72,000 damage. We took 10,000 damage. I did n’t even really notice it. I used Life Tap a bit to spam my cloak , because it’s the same button. But if you look at the damage meter here, this one is probably a little better, right? 90 DPS from my first damage effect, 71 DPS from the second. Now, one thing that’s different from all the other videos in this series—I upgraded Blood Moon to level 10. I did it last night . So that’s a little more damage. It was plus six. I was lucky enough to get a plus four in Hate and was able to string together two sevens to make it today. It’s a small difference compared to the others, but I don’t think it’s significant. Slashing Strikes —105 DPS. So my cuts finally have more DPS than my best damage effect, right? So that’s a little more damage, right? My punches , my left hand—95 DPS, right? You can see it here, I think it shows it best, right? This displays them all in that order, right? Where is the cut—this is, you know, the best DPS we’ve done, right? What is that? See here? Are these numbers the same ? Yes, 12.4. The average DPS is slightly different there . So something like that, but in general it’s about like that . So, the main weapon in the right hand is the most damaging, in the left hand it is the second most powerful , then the poison bolt and everything else. Yes. Huma, we used it in advance, at the very beginning of the battle. So he was acting all the time. 44 units of DPS. Now ” harm touch”. One “touch of damage”—43 DPS. Crazy, right? That’s a big shame. We had, I think, two left-hand effect activations. And five primary weapon effect triggers. We also have the ” vampire hug”—our life-sucking effect. Four hits, 800 healing units. Hmm , that’s not that much. Level—20 DPS. That’s six “Rives” for the entire fight. You know, there’s not much harm in that. But these periodic effects (DoT) are really the main contribution. And then we have kicks, a shield, basic attacks, and other useful accessories. Pretty good. Now, if we scroll to the pet, yes, the pet. How much DPS did he give out? Does it show a number here ? Here, 109 DPS for the pet . Most of the pet’s damage is from its Puma activation. By the way, what is he wearing now? He has “Earth Shaker +7”. Wow, he really has ” Earth Shaker +”. I didn’t even know he had it. Not sure if this is a good weapon for him. I was going to give him my “Das” and the shaman thing, but I was too lazy to do it. Just too lazy. But we’re going to switch to Warrior, Necromancer, and Shaman for the next playthrough. So I’ll still need this weapon. So, not bad, right? It deals damage over an area . He strikes with a sword. It deals good damage in close combat. My pet is a beastmaster, so he uses ice spears. I did them several times. 900 units of damage. I mean, it’s not that bad. And everything else that was there. I don’t know why there’s “Puma” there, but 29 activations, yes. Oh, one was repelled. 29 Puma activations in a pet. That’s a lot of collateral damage, right? So, honestly, the pet should be treated as just another periodic effect (DoT) . That’s 109 units. The pet did more damage than the poison bolt. The pet did more damage than my main attack. Okay, just think about it. My pet is n’t even max level. He…he’s the eighth. I still need, I still need to pump it up a few levels. If I …Now I’m almost sure that if I level this pet up to ninth. He has to reach level 46, right? 45th. Yes, he needs 45. So if I leveled him up another level, he could get a skill that would allow him to activate Earthquake, right? Which should theoretically increase its damage. So, you know, there’s something to think about. Maybe I’ll do it before next time. Uh, but you can see it. Here, blows . So, we had a 75% chance of hitting. We spent the entire fight in an aggressive stance with an ” overchannel” and an ” inversion.” These are the only racks I actually use. So, being in an aggressive stance all the time gave us an extra chance of hitting, which, you know, was pretty good, right? We had several dodges and parries, which reduces our chance of hitting. There were a few misses, but not too bad. Now about our evasion, that is, the blows to us, right? So, Yale and everything else in this collision had a 56% chance of hitting us, right? So they were right 56% of the time. They missed 24 % of the time. We blocked 8%, dodged 7%, and so on , right? Pretty good. Our avoidance is… you know, it’s the best we can do, right? All that’s here is… you know, something we can avoid, right? Now, if you look at it in-game, if we didn’t lose any buffs, right? We have 751 accuracy, but 527 evasion, and our armor is at the soft limit of mitigation. So 439 is our soft limit. 519—that’s what we have now. So being a monk of a certain weight, I think that’s just what makes this indicator green, because if I put on weight, then things are a little different, right? So, by turning it green, it gives us a little more armor and a little more evasion, right? So, the monk really gives a lot to this combination, and I think we’ll see that when. We’ll do real-world comparisons between the two fights, and you’ll be able to see when we switch, well, for example, to a warrior, a necromancer, a shaman, you’ll see all the differences there and so on . But right now, well, I’d like to get to the point where I get hit less than 50% of the time against most mobs, you know? So it’s more defense (AC), maybe more agility, and all that. And, you know, more chances to hit, more agility, more strength. Well, and additional things of this kind. As for treatment , I didn’t really try to get treatment . I put the slugs at the very beginning . I used Life Tap or Harm Touch, which gave me Life Touch, and then I spammed my “cloak,” which accidentally heals me because of how I have my hotkeys set up . So, you see, we had nine ” drain spirits” there , right? So, you can see here that the entire fight was in one stance— attacking, and we were changing invocations, which I don’t see here. So maybe that’s something I should pay attention to. But you see all these different things on the timeline. We only had a small gap in Venom Bolt, which isn’t too bad. You know, it’s probably five seconds. 59. So, 60. Yeah, maybe five, six, five, well, one or two ticks, you know? Not so bad. We had a little overlap here on Odium as we recast it. You see this overlap. This is when we put it on top of the add (ad), right? So, these are fashions, right? Well, not bad. Now the treatment for ” slugs”, you see the green color. We did n’t support it all the time. If it didn’t slow me down when I entered combat, I would probably put it on beforehand. So it was already active . But it lasts about 60 seconds. So that’s pretty good. It’s, you know, a free 200 health for slowing down, which is perfectly acceptable for most boss battles since you’re not moving much anyway. But yeah, and you can see Malow Sigh here once we applied them, because you can see how it all alternates, right? It looks like I used Venom Bolt first. Oh no, that’s because I used Venom Bolt in the fight before casting Togars on Master Yel. So that makes sense. You can see Puma throwing punches. Uh, a slight pause in the effects. I don’t know what happened there. Maybe I was switching targets to make…Yes, it looks like I switched targets right here. I was on…No, I was just doing magic. So , the effects don’t work when you cast a spell. So it’s, you know, a loss of DPS due to spells. That’s why damage over time effects work so well, right? If I cast powerful spells, I do n’t hit with weapons. If I do n’t hit, I don’t deal 105 DPS with my main hand. Now, uh, I think this build is reliable. I think this is probably one of the best builds in the game I’ve played so far. Um, so if you have, you know, another build that you think is good, let me know. I’ll try it. If you have a build that you think can’t complete any content at all on difficulty 4, let us know. I’ll try to make it work because I believe every build can do it. I feel like every build I’ve tried against difficulty 4 content has been an absolute walk in the park. So, you know, we have what we have. But that’s it. Thank you very much for watching the solo walkthrough of Master Yale on difficulty 4. I wish you a fantastic day.

Master Yael - WAR / ENC / CLR - d4 solo
Master Yael at difficulty four with Warrior, Enchanter and Cleric, a fight I called easy before parsing it at 238 DPS. The level 43 pet does about 19,000 of it, the Beastlord AI slows and plagues me the whole way, and the build needed two Sacred Echoes and never touched Promised Renewal.
Lord Nagafen - WAR / ENC / CLR - d4 - solo
Lord Nagafen at difficulty four with Warrior, Enchanter and Cleric, the fight I expected to be easy and parsed at 233 DPS, about 15 above Lady Vox. A charmed pet adds the rest, I finish with plenty of mana, and I say outright that I am about done with the Enchanter outside of leveling.
Lady Vox - WAR / ENC / CLR - d4 - solo
Lady Vox at difficulty four with Warrior, Enchanter and Cleric, a build I called boring right before parsing it at 217 DPS. A charmed priest does 18,000 of the 78,000, the build cannot realistically die, and I still think the Enchanter is a leveling class more than a boss class.
