October 13, 2026 Patch Notes - Everquest Legends
Raid recovery is the headline of October 13: every boss on a lockout is now a checkpoint, and the replay timer requirement for joining a group raid is gone, though a boss that has already died for you that day drops nothing. Pets get a new weapon ratio calculation and a higher level cap, and a critical damage bug that was costing someone a bonus is fixed.
I read these cold, without looking at them first, and the headline is raid recovery. Every boss in a raid with a lockout timer is now a checkpoint, so a kill stays a kill when the raid resumes, and the replay timer requirement for joining a group raid is gone. The catch is that a boss already killed for you that day gives no loot. Underneath that, pets choose weapons by a new ratio calculation and their level cap goes up by one, and a critical damage effect that used to work against you now adds to it.
Raid Recovery
Kills now stick, and helping a friend is allowed.
- Every boss in a raid with a lockout timer is a checkpoint. After a kill, any spawn point tied to that boss will not activate when the raid resumes.
- It does not matter much for today's content. It will later, in a raid with seven or eight dragons, where you do not want to lose all your progress because you did not finish them in one sitting.
- The replay timer requirement for joining a group raid is removed. You can join someone else's relaunched raid without having your own timer clear.
- A boss you are locked out of can be killed, but it will not drop loot for you. That applies to any boss you have already killed that day.
- Your total loot per day or week does not change. What changes is how many chances you get to help friends.
- I expect people to sell carries. Anyone stuck on difficulty four can now be helped through, and the same goes for difficulty five or six if they ever get added.
Pets and Weapons
Ratio now matters more than raw damage.
- Pets with equipped items use new damage and delay calculations when they pick a weapon. The ratio is now worth more than base damage.
- So give a pet the weapon with the highest ratio, not the biggest damage number. I would keep that in mind when you are choosing what to hand over.
- The level cap on upgraded pets goes up by one. The highest pet level used to be 49 and is now 50.
- Not every pet class gains equally, going by how I read it. The captions are muddled here, but I took it that Magicians and Necromancers are fine while Beastlords, Shamans and Shadow Knights get less out of it.
- Two lines about weapon damage no longer applying to the player and the player's pet did not come through the captions, so I am not summarizing them.
Fixes, One Spell, One Achievement
Mostly small, with one critical damage fix I have been waiting on.
- Barbarian facial settings can be saved now. That is good.
- Widen Perception works correctly after you switch to lower level gear. That is how the captions give the name.
- Unbound Cascade now adds to your base critical damage. Before this patch it reduced it, which is a strange thing for it to have been doing. It reads like a Necromancer or Shaman effect, and I reported it back in closed beta, so I am glad it is fixed.
- The Kobold Slayer achievement now points to a different continent instead of the tutorial area from the original EverQuest. The captions say Otis.
- A bard song, given in the captions as Magical Monologue, no longer appears in the song list. The reason given is that there are no magic weapons, since they were removed from the original EverQuest about three or four years ago.
- For questions, the official Discord is the better place. They can help with serious problems much better than I can, and comments below are welcome if you only want to talk about the game and the lack of content.
- I am no longer part of the EverQuest Legends creator program, so you will probably hear my opinion a little more often.
This Patch at a Glance
- Raids: a lockout boss you kill stays dead when the raid resumes.
- Joining a group raid no longer needs the replay timer, but a boss already killed that day drops nothing for you.
- Pets: pick weapons by ratio, not base damage.
- Pet level cap rises from 49 to 50.
- Unbound Cascade now adds to critical damage instead of reducing it.

Welcome to the review of the Everquest Legends update from October 13, 2026. Let’s see what we have today. I didn’t even read it beforehand. General: Fixed an issue where barbarian facial settings could not be saved . That’s good. Raid recovery. Every boss in a raid with a lockout timer is now a checkpoint, and after a kill, any spawn point associated with that boss will not activate when the raid resumes. While this isn’t very useful for today’s content, it will come in handy later. For example, you’re going to Visions of Peak, right? Are there seven or eight dragons there? You don’t want to lose all your progress if you don’t kill them all , so that’s good. The replay timer requirement for joining a group raid has also been removed. However, you will not receive loot from bosses that have already been killed that day. That’s pretty good. This is really not bad. You can… you could sell … you could sell “carries” for those who can’t cope. That’s it . If a player joins another player’s relaunched raid that has a boss that you are not supposed to get loot from due to a lock, you will be able to kill the boss but will not get the loot. You’ll get the same total loot per day or week, but now there are more opportunities to help your friends, right? That is, now you can sell help in passing. So, if there are people who can’t pass D4, you can help them. Or maybe D5 or D6, if they ever get added. Well, that’s convenient. Widen perception now works correctly after switching to low- level gear. ” Unbound Cascade” now adds to your base critical damage, and before this patch… it actually reduced your critical damage. This is so crazy. It seems to be either a necromancer or a shaman. I think I mentioned this back in closed beta testing. And then they sent me far away . So I’m glad they finally fixed it. It seems like my problem was similar, but not exactly the same, right? But still, I was actually sent away with nothing. Pets with equipped items now use new, improved damage and delay calculations when selecting weapons. Ratio— it is now more important than base damage. So you need a weapon with the highest ratio. What the monk’s fists look like. Keep this in mind. Erm, player damage no longer applies to weapon damage for items that no longer exist. Damage from the player’s pet no longer applies to weapon damage. OK. Um, increased the level cap for the player’s upgraded pets from level one to player level. Um, I mean, player level minus one. So, the highest pet level used to be 49, now it’s 50. Um, unless you’re a beastlord, shaman, or shadow knight, you’re, well, not so lucky. But, um, if you’re a mage or necromancer, you should be fine. Erm, achievement: The achievement ” Kobold Slayer” now points to the continent of Otis instead of Glooming Deep, which is the tutorial location for EverQuest 1. Spell: ” Magical Monologue” no longer appears in the bard’s song list because there are no magic weapons, since all magic weapons were removed in EverQuest 1, erm, about 3-4 years ago. So, the tag that is on the weapon. Um, well, that’s all. So, these are the update notes, no more update notes from now on. October 13, 2026 . If you have any questions or comments, leave them below. And, um, I’ll try to help you out as much as I can, but if you’re having serious problems, you should definitely head over to the official Discord, which is located at discord.gg/everquestlegends. And they will be able to help you much better there than I probably can. Um, but if you just want to talk about the game and, um, the lack of content , please leave a comment below. Um, and I’m no longer part of the Everquest Legends creator program , so, um, you’ll hear my opinion a little more often. Thank you very much for watching, and have a wonderful day.

October 23, 2026 Patch Notes - Everquest Legends
The October 22 update is a pet pass: command locks, a taunt toggle that moves threat by 75% or 50%, and backstabbing pets that can now kick and bash. Berserkers get Rampage rank 2 and a cleaner stance, and the October 23 hotfix cleans up the Necropolis. Then the spoilers: the datamine for reincarnation and the dark half-elf unlock.
September 29, 2026 Natch Potes - Everquest Legends
No patch this week, only a hotfix with two language fixes: half-elf characters now get a language when they are created, and the common language for Iksars, Ogres and Trolls is now 100, existing characters included. The rest is a note that the team is busy, Kunark is in the works, and a big patch every week is not a realistic expectation.
