Priests of Life - Faction
Getting Priests of Life to warmly for SoulFire, including the Flesh to Bone trick that turned a fifty platinum stack of meat into a thousand Bone Chips before it was nerfed on live, and how to hand them in when the NPC scowls at your race.
Priests of Life needs to reach warmly before SoulFire will start, and the turn in is Bone Chips. Two problems get solved here. The first is supply, answered by a trick that converts a fifty platinum stack of meat into a thousand Bone Chips. The second is that the NPC will not take a meaningful hand in while he scowls at your race, which loadouts and an Enchanter between them can work around.
The Flesh to Bone Trick
Not my idea, and it did not survive to live.
- Buy Chunks of Meat from the vendor in South Ro, out on the island in the corner of the zone. A stack of a thousand runs about 50 platinum.
- Hold the meat and click the Necromancer AA Flesh to Bone. The whole stack becomes Bone Chips.
- Three AA points buys the ability, which is the entire cost of never worrying about Bone Chips again.
- Or farm meat in the Karanas if you would rather not spend the platinum.
- Credit where due: I picked this up from someone on Discord rather than working it out myself.
Beta caveat, now settled: I said at the time I was not sure this would survive to live, and it did not. The July 28 patch made Flesh to Bone produce no drop Bone Chips. They still work for summoning spells, but they cannot be handed in, so the buy-a-stack-of-meat route to faction is dead and bone chips have to be farmed the normal way. Everything else below still stands.
The Race Problem
Scowling means two chips at a time.
- As an Iksar the priest scowls, and will only accept two Bone Chips per trade, which makes the grind absurd.
- Sneaking behind him makes him con indifferent, but does not fix the hand in size.
- Factions are shared across your loadouts, but the race is not. Swapping to a loadout with a friendlier race is the simplest fix.
- As a Gnome he takes 500 at a time, which takes you from scowling to ally in two trades.
- Illusions work the same way, so anything that changes the race he sees will do.
The Enchanter Option
For when he has already decided to fight you.
- Mez him if he turns hostile mid attempt.
- Memblur so he forgets the whole encounter, which is what gets you back to trading at all.
- The Alliance line lifts his con, and benevolence took him from ready to attack up to threatening.
- It was not enough on its own. Still an Iksar, still refused the hand in, with the game telling me I was on the path but not there yet. Alliance rescues a botched attempt; it does not replace the race swap.
- Enchanters are the general answer to faction problems that otherwise need a different character entirely.
The Iksar Ceiling
Worth knowing before you over-farm.
- An Iksar caps at warmly with Priests of Life no matter how many chips you hand over. I fed him another 500 to check and the bar did not move, with 150 points to ally still showing.
- Warmly is all SoulFire requires, so the cap is not actually a problem.
- Do the hand in on a friendlier race if you want the faction itself maxed, since the faction carries across your loadouts.
The Kill Route Instead
If you have no Enchanter and no other race.
- South Karana, the undead ruins where Lord Grimrot spawns.
- Kill the skeletons for Priests of Life, and Grimrot himself for 10.
- It also lifts Guards of Qeynos, which is useful on its own.
- You lose Bloodsavers faction, the sewer crowd, and I do not care about them in the slightest.
- Blackburrow feeds the Qeynos factions too, so a levelling character has often done this by accident.
Priests of Life at a Glance
- Buy Chunks of Meat from the South Ro island vendor, about 50 platinum a stack.
- Click Flesh to Bone on a Necromancer to convert the lot.
- Go to the priest in Qeynos.
- If he scowls, swap loadout to a friendlier race or use an illusion.
- Hand over 500 at a time. Two trades is usually enough.
- Mez and memblur with an Enchanter if he turns on you.
- Warmly is the target. Iksar cannot go past it and does not need to.
- No Enchanter? Farm Lord Grimrot's ruins in South Karana instead.

Hello and welcome to uh EverQuest Legends beta. Today we’re going to be working on the Priests of Life faction. Now, uh it’s fairly straightforward to give bone chips to this dude right here, but he does not like me at all. I’m an iksar, I’m a scaly boy. Uh what am I going to do? So, my thought here is that I’m going to sneak behind him. Like so. I con him again, uh he’s indifferent. We’re going to walk right over here. Now, I have a bunch of bone chips. Uh I’ll tell you how I got a bunch of bone chips here in just a moment. Let’s see if this actually functionally works. Let’s hand this to him. There we go, we gave him 500. And he only accepted two at once. Con him again, he’s scowl and all right, he doesn’t want to attack us. So, we can only give him two at a time. Uh that is terrible. Let’s try 2,000 Let’s try uh 200 gold here cuz he also takes gold for uh payment here. There we go, we gave him 200 gold. And he gave it right back. All right, so uh this is uh this is a tedious quest. >> [laughter] >> But, it’s working, all right? It’s functionally working. Uh and you can see here if we click on Priests of Life, we’re scowls, we’re 290 points away. Right? So, this is uh this is obviously uh probably because we’re we’re scowls, right? So, this is one option to get your uh Priests of Life up. You can just sit here and hand these over and over again. And oh, we got to like be behind him, I guess. Cuz he uh we have to sneak. Now, you get sneak from bard uh or rogue or I believe a few other classes, but uh for me, it’s from the bard. That’s why I have a bard in my loadout at the moment. So, you just got to kind of like dance behind him every time. Uh slowly working that up, right where it almost threatening. >> [laughter] >> Uh and so this is an option, right? Now uh the other option is to go to uh South Karana and uh kill the putrid bones where the uh the monk guy spawns. Oh my gosh. Uh the monk um what is it called? The monk undead uh gnoll. Uh he spawns in that little undead ruins, right? That’s the guy you want to kill uh over and over again. So we just kind of like do this back and forth. I don’t like that I can’t uh give him more and I keep falling down. Can I give it to him while he’s up there? All right. So this is an option, right? If you you don’t have that. Now let’s do this other option here. Uh I’m going to stand right here. Now we’re in a starting city. Uh another option you can do is go to your inventory. Now one class that is fantastic is the enchanter. We have a 29 enchanter. Uh let’s see if we can use this in any of this loadout here. So we have a warrior cleric enchanter. Let’s go ahead and swap to that one. Uh now your factions are all shared between all of your uh combinations, right? So all right. Now as a gnome we are indifferent. Well, I guess we’re still shrunk. I mean not shrunk. Uh we’re still sneaking even though we don’t have sneak, right? I I’m I’m going to I’m going to call that a bug uh but uh it is what it is. Now let’s go over here see if we can turn in more bone chips than before. So let’s uh do this. We’re going to do a few different things here, right? I’m going to show this one. Oh, so that we can turn in more, right? Okay. So that that works. Now, if you’re an iksar and so we’re in a we’re in an enchanter, right? Let’s Let’s go over here. Let’s change this loadout. Um I just want to kind of make sure you understand all of these different ways you can do this, right? Let’s go edit my thing here. Let’s turn into an iksar. Uh let’s go ahead and save that, right? Then we’ll turn into the iksar right now. Son of a disappeared. Where’d he go? We’re still sneaking. >> [laughter] >> We should be what? We’re So, we’re still scowls. We didn’t turn that many in. All right. Conned him. Hail. Hey, buddy. You’re going to have to stop. Now, uh we are in enchanter now. So, we can use Let’s get rid of Word of Pain before that does something stupid here. Um alliance benevolence, right? Did you just attack me? Sir, I did not request that. All right. We’re going to mez him. This is This is why you need to be an enchanter for a lot of these things, right? We’re going to do that. Is that guard going to attack me? I should be like really high up on the guard faction here. Let’s do this one. And we’re going to memblur this son of a gun so he forgets us. Now, having an enchanter is definitely on the good side of getting things done with this this quest particular. Uh I’m going to re-mez him. And then we’re going to try to memblur him once that is good. So, memblur. There. He He’s uh still hates us, right? But uh we’re good there. Now, we’re going to do benevolence on him. So, he’s conned, you know, ready to attack. He’s threatening now, right? So, uh if we go over here, let’s let’s pull out some bone chips here. Come on. Give me 100 bone chips. Uh that’s 10, bone. Let’s just hand him 10 bone chips, right? And you’re in the path, but you’re not there yet, right? So, we can’t do it uh in this race, right? So, if we go over here and switch back, right? Like these are just different ways you can do it. You can uh go through and save. So, we go right right here. Edit this, go back to gnome. Save that. Right there. Actually, let’s hail him again real quick. I want to I want to show a different uh different thing you can do, right? Like so, let’s see here. We got to missed. Let’s get rid of that. Take over here, illusion. Uh all these different illusions, you can switch into those and you might get a higher faction. Obviously, just changing to the races you have unlocked will do it, too. So, right? Uh it’s very dependent on that. So, we’re just going to give him uh let’s say just uh I don’t want to give him all my bone chips. Um So, we can hand these to him. He’s cons apprehensive now. And we give him uh 500 bone chips. And you can see here he’s just just loving us, right? Like So, we just we just made his day uh with bone chips galore here, right? Con him again. He’s an owl and ally. Uh we’re an ally to him, which is almost there. So, let’s just give him the remaining 400 of these. Right? This is should max us out, right? You can see our little progress bar right there. Now, we’re a max ally uh with him, right? Now, why is that important? So, I’m going to go back over here again cuz I’m trying to get a soulfire as an iksar, right? All right. So, we’re going to go back to the loadouts and we’re going to go to Where’s my paladin loadout? I don’t even see it. Did I screw it up? Uh warrior paladin warrior paladin, there it is. Warrior Paladin, bard. Notice it’s iksar, so we’ll should be able to uh con him. We got Knights of Thunder maxed out also. So, both of those are maxed out. There he is. Going over there. And con him. We are out of our warmly. Okay, let’s hail him again. All right. So, we’re still warmly, right? Let’s give him another 500 bone chips. This guy is just a greedy son of a gun. There we go. And uh we might not be able to get any higher than this, actually. I know that I’m looking at this. There we go. Yeah, we’re still warmly. So, I guess that is like where the faction kind of maxes out faction here. Uh as an iksar, right? There’s like some kind of racial uh you know, racial limit there. Yeah, you can kind of see it here. Guard Kino’s I’m warmly. Almost ally. Priest of Life warmly, 150 points to ally. So, to finish this quest for Soulfire, right? That’s the why we’re doing this. We only need warmly, so we should be able to do it as an iksar. So, that should be there. Now, the other thing you can do, as I said, you can go to uh This is uh there’s no like zone map, is there? No way to switch zones. Uh zone guide. So, in uh >> [laughter] >> in South Oh, who’s this guy? Who are you? I don’t even know what faction you’re on, buddy. I don’t even want to I don’t want to hassle with you right now. All right, so now I guess the the real thing is how did I get, you know, like 10,000 bone chips, right? I didn’t I did not spend my time farming bone chips. So, let me uh let me zone this guy off here and I’ll talk about how I did that. Um it’s really easy to do, and um it’s probably like low-key a a that I should make in a separate video, but it’s not my idea, right? Some guy posted it on on Discord. And uh so it’s, you know, it’s not my So I’m not going to make a video just to to steal that, but I will tell you how I did it, right? Uh I went to South Karana, which I again I can’t show. I’m not South Karana, South uh South Ro. Let me see if I can pull up a map. I can kind of show where he’s at. Here’s the EverQuest Legends Wiki. So if we go Anatolica and we go to uh South Ro. Let’s also pull up South Karana and I’ll talk about that one there. I think these have maps on them, right? Perfect. All right. Right here. So this is uh Rath Mana Island, right? This guy right here in the corner of uh South Ro. He sells chunks of meat for uh like almost nothing. I think you can buy a stack for like 50 platinum, right? So that’s a thousand meat. And then you take a necromancer with the AA flesh to bone. You hold the meat in your hand, you click flesh to bone, boom. All the meat becomes bone chips and you’re uh pretty much set on bone chips for the rest of your life. It’s uh it’s super super good. It works here in the beta. I don’t know if it’s going to go live like that, but uh uh you buy all you buy all your meat or you can farm your meat and go to the Karanas and just farm meat all day long. That’s up to you. Now, as I said, you could go to South Karana to get faction if you if you don’t have like a an enchanter or a different race, you just, you know, you’re stuck and you have no other option. Uh you can go here to this one right here, the Undead Rooms of Lord Grimrot, right? At this uh room here, there’s a bunch of skeletons. Kill those, you should get Priest of Life faction. Killing, I believe, Lord Grimrot should give you Priest of Life. Yes, 10 Priest of Life. Guards of Keanos and stuff like that. Now, you’re going to lose faction with the Bloodsavers, which I believe is the uh the evil guys in the sewer. But you know, who cares about those guys? >> [laughter] >> So that that should help you out there. Now if you have any other more questions, let me know, but uh we’re going to be starting Soulfire. That’s like the whole point of this is to get this guy to the faction point where he can do Soulfire, right? And we should be there now. I’m looking at everything, so that’s the plan. But there we go. That is how you get Priest of Life faction maxed out. If we look at the achievements, right, before we uh before we end this. Go to races and we go to Keanos humans, right? Merchants of Keanos, guards of Keanos. Now I got these factions from just doing Blackburrow. So you can get those in Blackburrow. The corrupt guards, I have no idea yet, so keep that in mind there. Now the factions are all progressive. Aggressive progressive things here. So unlocking all the different factions will get you progressive achievements. So it’s not I mean it’s like literally not that hard. You know, for less than 200 platinum, you too could do that. You know, you just got to spend three AAs on Flush the Bone. I don’t know what level necromancer that was, but uh definitely a thing to do there, but there we go. So if you have any questions or comments, leave them down below. The next video should be us starting Soulfire. So thank you very much for watching and please have a fantastic day. >> Mhm.
