October 2026 Everquest Patch Notes
The October 21st live update. Parcels finally take multiple items at once with a Shift click, which is a gift if you have twenty character accounts to empty. Alongside it a poison slow tied to trade skills, Magician and Rogue focus fixes, Night of the Dead, and the Extra Life rewards.
The October 21st live update is led by parcels: you can now put multiple items in one package, and I have about twenty character accounts that I am trying to empty onto a merchant, so this one is personal. The rest is a long list of class fixes, a poison slow that I spent part of the video trying to run down in the recipe database, and two things coming up around it, the Night of the Dead event and the Extra Life rewards. The captions mangled a lot of the names in this one, so I have kept the weaker details hedged.
Parcels Take a Stack
The change I will actually use.
- You can send multiple items in one package. Hold Shift and left click, and a single parcel takes up to 25 items.
- There is a longer write up on the official page that covers the Shift behaviour in detail. I was not logged in while recording, so I did not test it live.
- It matters most if you carry many accounts. I have about twenty characters and moving their gear onto one merchant to sell has been taking forever.
- If the recipient does not exist, you can mail the parcel to yourself, which is how I read the notes, and it is also a way to store items.
- My own count on limits was loose. I counted something like 150 parcels stored, with anything over 50 deleted if you log out while they are waiting, and I said at the time I was not sure of the numbers.
The Poison Slow
I went down a rabbit hole on this one.
- Trade skills now slow down poison refresh, and the slow is 66%. That is the line as I read it, and the wording is ambiguous.
- I spent a while in the recipe database trying to find the poison it applies to. The recipes come in five ranks, and the one I settled on is around level 80.
- My reading is a level 80 Rogue up to level 130 being able to slow a target by 66%. I am not certain of that range.
- If that is right it is a lot, because slows have mostly been a Shaman job and this puts one in a Rogue's hands from level 80.
- Overseer rewards also now include poison materials, as best I can tell from the captions. Poison supplies were sorely lacking before this.
Class and Spell Fixes
Buffs for Magicians and Rogues, a conflict for Shadow Knights.
- Magician focus is fixed. A fire weapon line was preventing all of its ranks from focusing properly, along with the rest of that spell line. This should read as a Magician damage buff.
- Rogue gets another buff. A discipline had its focus improved so it covers the whole line, and the weapon focus was updated as well, as the captions put it.
- The Shadow Knight AC effect moved onto a different spell to avoid buff conflicts. The spell name is garbled in the captions.
- New ranks of Energy Attunement and Expanded Mind were added. They raise health and health regeneration, and the same for mana, but the numbers came through too garbled to quote.
- A bandolier fix: swapping through a bandolier did not always apply the defense buff on one line of items, so you could swap and not get the buff. That should be fixed, though the item line is named differently in every caption pass.
Servers, Fixes and Crashes
A long tail, and a few I am not sure about.
- Progression servers got a bigger experience bonus on their latest rewards. I read the bonus as 175 now, stepping up to 200, 225 and 250 in later unlocks, but the captions made a mess of it.
- A zone fix for named spawns: placeholders that called a named could be killed and left, then respawn and be farmed over and over. That loop is closed.
- Chirping Mushroom caps now drop. A fix for an issue with the Chirping Mound and the Doomscream Mushrooms, which are the names as heard.
- Some raid members were not receiving achievements or quest credit after an NPC died. That is fixed.
- Two crashes fixed: a client crash after leaking a Direct3D device resource, and a world server crash while processing real estate, with an on-screen message that the zone will restart soon.
- A new /ote command puts a special character before a player's name to mark a line as an emote.
- Interface: the equipment set checkboxes on the character tab move to the left, extra items no longer vanish after changing characters, and the client stops answering random mouse up events when the cursor is over the game window.
Events: Night of the Dead and Extra Life
Both are on now or about to be.
- The Night of the Dead event is active, and your background should look like a bunch of pumpkins. I have older videos walking through the quests from a previous run, if you want to see how they go.
- There is a prize I think is a stuffed animal illusion, though I did not confirm that. It is a pretty good little event either way.
- The Community Merchant has new rewards bought with Adventure Journals, tied to the event they are holding. I could not find it on the bulletin board, but it is on Discord.
- Guide applications are open, if you want to be a guide for your server or another.
- Extra Life is coming up, and the rewards ramp with the total raised. At the $115,000 mark the bonuses I wrote down were 200% experience, 225 extra rare items so every spawn is rare, 150% loot and 100% extra coins, and it keeps going from there.
- Donating $100 gets cosmetic items, a hat for a pet and a blue dog that looks like a scruffy little doggie. One mercenary contract is a bear that I swear is part spider.
- A donation of 500 gets one of everything, and 1,000 earns a gold cap and a gold crusader title. The team is under the Darkpaw banner.
- I did Extra Life last year, and I donated the remainder to finish the goal. I cannot stream much beyond an hour any more, so I will not be doing a marathon, but several people in the EverQuest streaming group and on Discord are, and they are worth supporting.
The Short Version
- Hold Shift and left click to put up to 25 items in one parcel.
- A poison slow of 66% is in, tied to trade skills. Treat the exact level range as unconfirmed.
- Magician and Rogue both get focus fixes that read as damage buffs.
- Bandolier swaps should apply the defense buff on the affected item line now.
- Two crash fixes, one client and one world server.
- Night of the Dead is live, and the Community Merchant has new Adventure Journal rewards.
- Extra Life rewards ramp up at donation milestones, starting with items at $100.

Welcome to the Ever Quest One update of October 21, 2026. So, the highlights of today’s patch are the parcels. You can send multiple packages. Now, uh, there’s another, uh, document on their webpage . You can see, you know, it’s detailed there about pressing Shift and stuff like that. I’m not logged in right now , but I’ll try . Uh, but I suppose you would just press Shift, like you can do in other games with male systems that, uh, do that. So, honestly, it’s a great change. Uh, because I have about 20 character accounts and I’m trying to unload all their gear onto my merchant to sell it and it’s taking forever. So that’s nice. Er, items honed by Wormkiller now appropriately mean Wormkiller’s defense buff when you use Bandelier. So if you trade a bandelier, sometimes you don’t get your little buffy. Uh, and that should fix it. Added several new rewards for the Community Merchant that can be purchased with Adventure Journals. This, uh, this is the event they’re holding. It seems she’s on Discord. I don’t know if they show it on the bulletin board here, but maybe news and announcements. Yeah, I don’t see that here. I know you can definitely find it on Discord. Um, but, uh, yeah. Trade skills now slow down poison refresh. Hmm, so the slow poison now slows to 66%, which is actually pretty cool. Hmm, now let’s see if we can figure this out quickly. Hmm, I’m going to do it live. So, uh , let’s take a look here. Let’s just look it up. This might be the right term to search for. Look for this, which should give us this. And then I don’t see this anywhere else about EQ traders. Does this still work? Yes, it works. Recipes. And then we move on to making poison. Make poison. What is it called? Sloth Potion Meridians. Right. Let’s see. Sloth from Meridians. XIX XIV. Good. XIV. So, that’s five. These are five ranks. further along the Shadow of Rosso. One, two, three, four, five. And there are…Are there no recipes for poison? Uh, make poison. Good. The torments of Develius. I…I… I’m going to get off topic, but, uh, this will make sense in a second. Er… Sloth from Meridians X IX X IV. Good. So, it does n’t even make sense. Wait, wait. This is the Passion of Aelius. Let’s go back here. Er, good luck. It’s the same thing . I can’t …It can’t be like this . Let’s see. Come on. Like, uh, aren’t there literally poison recipes for any of these seniors…There is one. How is the fool? How was the fool there? Good. Sloth from Meridians. Good. XVI X IV. Okay, so we’re close. So, this is approximately level 8590. This requires level 90. Oh, wait. No. Yes, that’s level 90. So, um, IV. I am God, I am terrible at Roman numerals. So , that’s six. It’s 16, right? So, IV will be 14. Yes, 14, which will be See, here is Underfoot, the Seeds of Destruction. I would say it’s somewhere around here . Hmm, obviously there’s no, uh, no potion there. Let’s try this. So, we go like this. Let’s copy this. And let’s come back here. Let’s move on to the search. Good. Here’s one, two, three, four. Uh, uh, IV. Let’s go. Uh , this is the one we’re looking for. So, this is level 80. Good. So now, why, why did I waste my time on this? This, uh, what kind of addition is this? I’m trying to figure out if I can figure it out just by looking, but I have no idea. Okay, let’s say level 80, right? Let’s just say level 80. This means that a level 80 rogue up to level 130 can be slowed by 66%. Which, honestly , is pretty good. Uh, I, I’m probably exaggerating, but I think it’s actually going to be pretty good, right? Uh, from level 80, you know, you’ll need a shaman to slow down. You could slow down with a robber, right ? That’s pretty good, you know. So it’s just great that they’re adding this to yet another class quest and event. Dust, er, Twilight Mold: Fixed an issue with Chirping Mound and Doomscream Mushrooms that caused the Chirping Mushroom’s cap to not drop, and the Doomscream Mushroom spell: Shadow Knight moved the AC effect to Torrent, er, Stream of Suffering to avoid buff conflicts. So, they added new ranks of Energy Attunement, and they added new ranks of Expanded Mind, expanded Mind, each of which increases your health and maximum health regeneration. The same goes for mana, so it’s pretty good, and it’s 45 and 171 respectively. The magician fixed the focus problem. The capricious fire weapon that prevented all ranks from focusing properly, the inconsistent configuration, and all spells in the chaotic fire line. Now this should be a buff to increase mage damage. Wonderful, isn’t it? Well, let’s see. Escape is no longer free in Lackland, and updated the AI weapon focus for the Rogue, improved the shaky chance discipline to focus the entire line. Right. So, this is another robber buff. So that’s pretty good. Fixed an issue in Mist City where Black Rogues and elites who called spawns like Lord Rakish or whatever , uh, were littering the area. So if you just went and killed all the black bandits and then left these guys, uh, I think theoretically the black bandits would respawn and you could do it over and over and over again theoretically. Hmm, interesting that the Overseer added ” Lackland’s Horror”, ” Lorian Song”, and the materials to make poison for the Outer Brood to the corresponding rewards, isn’t it? So now you can get, um, poisonous things out of all this, which is good, which was sorely lacking. I thought you had to do, um, something like “Claws of Vishian” I think, or “Torture Theas” to get these, um, the progression servers increased the experience bonus to the PDA on the Frostmourner by 15 50%, and now that means, um, the bonus is 175. So that means that the Frostmourner currently has a 175 PDA bonus, which I think just reached Llyn and will increase to 200 in The House, 225 in The Ring of Scale, and 250 in Klaus of the Self. I was thinking about creating, um, you know, going back to my Beastmaster once it got a little further along in the add-ons. Eh, so I can go back and do some searching. Every time I go in, there’s all these groups of bots after the fair, and it’s just really annoying to , uh, try to play, so I put it off . That’s why there’s no one there, like a lethargic person. Miscellaneous: Updated achievements, elemental plans, and game time, making some components optional. Fixed an issue where some Rage members were not receiving achievements or quest credits after killing an NPC. Classic character models using the custom Velius helmet will no longer briefly display the plate helmet when zoning or changing races. Fixed an issue where the game client would crash after leaking, er, a direct 3D device resource. Fixed an issue that could cause the world server to crash while processing real estate, and added an on-screen message stating that the zone will restart soon. Added the /ote command to include a special character before a player’s name to indicate that it is an emote. Fixed an interface issue where the game client would respond to random mouse-up events if the mouse was over the game window when the button was released. Uh, now you can send multiple items in one package. Uh, hold Shift and left- click. That’s it. Click “send up to 25 items”. Uh, if the person doesn’t exist, you can mail them to yourself, uh, or get them back . Uh, so you can store items in your parcel, right? I do n’t know if you can store 120 or, you know, 150*25 items . I don’t know this because you can store about 150 packages. Anything over 50 gets deleted if you, you know, log out while they’re there. But if the character is offline, you can send, uh, up to, I think, 150. I think that’s what I counted and tried to do. Maybe a little more or less. Uh, move the checkboxes for the equipment sets on the character tab of the inventory window to the left. Fix an issue where additional items would disappear after changing characters. Reload the user interface. Okay, changed the equalizer animation, inventory options, etc. And then they fixed the problem with the mouse appearance. Now, uh , let’s look here. Let’s get rid of these and the sloth potion. That’s it. So this, uh, this article just talks about it from the news here. Just, you know, click on it with the Shift key held down, and, uh, you can, you know, receive packages. And there are also open applications for guides. So if you want to be a guide for your server or any other server , I don’t know how it works, you go there and become a guide, uh, for that, and then the dead come back. The Night of the Dead event is now active. Your background should look like a bunch of pumpkins, etc. So, uh , you can go through this . I have some videos from the old Nome Guardsman travel series I’m looking through. I think most of them, uh, if it was done in the last two years, I did n’t do it, but if it was before that, I did everything. Uh, you can see all these quests and how to do them and so on. That’s pretty good. This is a pretty good little event. You can get something. I think it’s some kind of stuffed animal illusion you can get or something. So, that’s pretty good. And I think that’s it . So, the beta version is open. Beta version available. You can buy the beta version if you want to buy it. Extra life will appear soon . If you don’t know about Extra Life, you donate some money and, uh, there will be some bonuses. Good. So if they make $115,000, uh, there’s a 200% experience bonus, 225 extra rare items. That is, each spawn is rare. 150% loot, 100% extra coins. I mean, it just keeps going. So if they get it and make it, if you donate $100, you can get these items right here. So, uh, this pet, this hat, I swear, it looks like it’s unguarded, doesn’t it? Eh , that’s pretty funny. Uh , and then you can get this, uh, this blue dog, which, uh, looks like a nice little scruffy doggie. Uh, if you join their team under the command of Darkpaw, right? Do you join their team and then ask people to donate to you, or do you donate yourself because of their team thing? You can, uh, get this mercenary contract right here for this, uh , bear, spider -bear man. I swear it’s a spider -bear man, but I do n’t know. Uh, it’s a bear and then a spider, right? Uh, I don’t think I’ve ever seen that in a game, but I don’t know. You get one of everything for 500, and then you get a gold cap and a gold crusader title for the character, one of which you get for earning 1,000, uh, dollars. And that, uh, you can, you can donate like I did. I did Extra Life last year and I think we got, uh, about 750, uh donations or something. I don’t remember exactly. And then what I did was I donated the rest to raise, uh, the amount to finish it. But you can definitely do it. Well, you know, I do n’t…honestly, I don’t plan on abstaining. I can’t talk for very long, about an hour, then I stop. I got really sick after, uh, some streams, and, uh, I just can’t do it anymore. But, uh, you know, there are a lot of people I know, uh, some people on Discord who, uh, are planning to do something like a marathon stream . Well, you know, go check these people out, support them. I don’t… I don’t know who to recommend or anything. So, sorry. But, uh, anyone in the EverQuest streaming group and, uh, EverQuest content creators, uh, you can definitely, uh, go there and watch. But this is a game update and news in the world of EverQuest, uh, for October 21, 2026. I hope you have a fantastic day. Thank you very much for watching.

August 2026 Everquest Test Server Patch Notes
Resource Hunter gets the longest section, but the change that matters most is the Cleric epic 1.0: Shmendrik Lavawalker's respawn comes down and the chain loot locks to whoever did the turn in, which closes the multi-quest that handed the epic to people who had done none of it.
