How I Play My Level 120 Shadowknight

How I play my level 120 EverQuest Shadowknight: Hobs, my group tank, built around a one-button life-tap rotation, Knight's Synergy for the group, and a deep stack of defensive discs. Covers the everyday spells, the multibind, the defensive disciplines, big cooldowns, AAs, and gear at 120.

Hobs is my group tank, not a solo character. I play him on a one-button multibind: pressing 4 or 5 cycles a heavy life-tap rotation that keeps me topped off while the casters fire on the same press. The kit leans on Knight's Synergy for the group, a deep bench of defensive disciplines, and a stack of skins and stances that pushes him near 500,000 hit points.

Session Overview

Group tank, one button.

  • Role: the group's main tank. This is group play, not solo content.
  • Playstyle: a multibind. All keys bind to 4 and 5, so one press cycles a life-tap rotation, taunts, and procs while the mage and wizard fire on the same press.
  • Why life taps over dots: a solo Shadowknight would run more dots, but the caster box needs every press to keep the mage and wizard active, so the tank rotation is built around life taps that heal me and keep everyone firing.
  • Focus AAs changed: focus abilities now buff whole spell lines instead of a single spell, so I no longer lose damage when I move up a rank.
  • Bulk: the stance, skins, and buffs push him toward 494,000 hit points, over 500,000 with an empowered campfire.

Everyday Spells

The always-on kit I only upgrade in place.

  • Parlay for Power: a taunt that is also defensive. It adds 378 AC for a minute plus a recourse that extends the AC for 2:48, and it builds hatred (17,000 up front, then 14,000 every 6 seconds for 30 seconds).
  • Spear of Bloodwretch: a near-instant single-target spell, 22,000 base, hitting around 90,000 in my setup.
  • Adamant Stance: the current-level stance (the Steely Stance line from 75). A huge 41,000 hit-point buff.
  • Xenacious' Skin: absorbs about 12,000 for the next three hits on a charge-based buff. Keep it up at all times.
  • Pet: Minion of Itzal, a 118 pet that holds up fine, plus its haste buff.

Life Taps

The core of the rotation.

  • Cruor's Bite: the group tap, instant cast. 4,300 damage, handing the group 3,100 health and 1,700 mana on about a one-minute reuse.
  • Touch of Namdrows: a 7,800 life tap that leaves Gift of Namdrows behind: 25% more hate generated and a decaying maximum hit point buff that takes me to about 494,000.
  • Dire Censure and Touch of Txiki: two fast standard life taps with different resist mods (about -200 and -500), so they rarely resist. Dire is a 16-second reuse and twincasts for around 54,000 (healing 100,000).
  • Composite Fang: the progressive spell, 55,000 base, returning 120% as health up to 166,000. Cannot be twincast, -300 resist, instant, 60-second reuse. Cast on cooldown.
  • Insidious Renunciation: an AoE life tap hitting up to 30 targets for about 9,000 base each, healing up to 24,000 per target.
  • Bond of Bynn: a life-tap-over-time, instant cast, healing 150% of the damage back up to 19,000 per pulse (about 23,000 a tick).
  • Confluent Disruption: a disruptive mantle. When three heals from other sources land on me I fire a reflective 16,000 life tap. Fades after 2 minutes or 40 life taps, so being healed by others turns into extra damage and self-healing.

How One Key Runs Everything

One press, and the bar to the left of it.

  • Every key on the bar is bound to both 4 and 5, so pressing either fires whatever is ready and skips the rest. One action per press for spells; the AAs are off the global cooldown and go whenever they like.
  • Three buttons sit outside the bind, in order: a hide corpse macro that also auto-inventories the cursor and forages, snare on 3 for the rare occasion it is wanted, then the bind itself.
  • The bind opens with attack on, pet attack and pet swarm, so everything retargets together.
  • The order is deliberate, not alphabetical. Entries are placed so their refresh timers stagger, which is what lets a single key reach the bottom of the list.
  • No dots, on purpose. A damage over time spell has no recast, so on a spammed key it would be refreshed constantly and never tick out. The solo Shadowknight uses more of them precisely because he is not played this way.

This exists because of the other characters, not this one. The mage and the wizard need a keypress per cast or they do nothing, so one button that drives everybody was the compromise. Played right the box lands somewhere around 3 to 5 million DPS.

The Multibind

Top to bottom, as it fires.

Entry What it does
Attack, pet attack, pet swarmThe head of the bind. Everything retargets on the current mob
TauntThe skill, kept in the bind so hate never lapses between spells
RepudiateThe current withstand line. Two hits base, six with focus, cutting damage 90% for 12 seconds or until 84,000 is absorbed. Roughly a 15 second reuse, so close to one for one uptime, and it drains fast against two or three mobs
Spear of BloodwretchA disease nuke, 22,500 base and around 90,000 with AAs. Pure damage, no tap
Cruor's BiteGroup tap. 4,300 damage, handing the group 3,100 health and 1,700 mana
Terror of AnderA 21,500 hate jolt, instant, which is why it doubles as the pull. No damage of its own
Composite FangThe big tap. 55,000 base returning 120% as health, up to 166,000. 60-second reuse
Touch of NamdrowsLife tap for 7,800, and it leaves a 4,700 maximum hit point buff that decays
Dire CensureLife tap, up to 15,800. The largest of the ordinary ones
Touch of TxikiLife tap, a flat 8,700
Insidious RenunciationAE tap and taunt in one. Up to 30 mobs, 9,100 hate and 9,200 damage each, healing up to 25,000 per target. Near the bottom of what one press reaches
Bond of BynnA heal-over-time tap returning 150% of its damage, up to 19,100 a pulse. Parked rather than used. It only fires in a specific bard buffed window and mostly never comes up
Chattering BonesAA. Swarm skeletons
Bite of ChaosA nuke that also restores mana and endurance. One minute reuse
Ageless EnmityAA taunt, fired on cooldown because everything should be attacking me anyway
Projection of DoomA taunt pet. Being removed from here, because it is in two places at once
Grisly BladeStrikes twice for about 1,400
Unrelenting AcrimonyTaunt. 5,300 every 6 seconds for 18 seconds, allies generate 95% less hate, my own hate up 55%, and it heals 5,300 across the duration
Sanguine BladeThree sword attacks at 4,300, 4,600 and 5,000, then a rage buff adding 3,600 to spell damage plus haste and minimum melee. 20 minute reuse
Reflexive ResentmentThree slashes at 1,930, each healing the group 40,000. No two-hander required

Sanguine Blade is a 20 minute cooldown sitting in a spammed bind, and that is admitted as laziness rather than defended. It could come out and be pressed deliberately. In practice the pull-pull-pull rhythm means it is usually up when it matters, which is the honest reason it stays.

Defensive Disciplines

The bench I rotate for hard pulls.

  • Deflection: a level 59 disc granting near-immunity to frontal attacks while holding a shield for 12 seconds. Great for pulling bosses.
  • Shield Flash: the shield blocks all incoming attacks for 6 seconds. Costs mana and endurance, 4-minute reuse. It saves lives.
  • Fyrthek Mantle: absorbs 35% of incoming melee for a minute (up to 3.1 million), then heals 47,000 on fade.
  • Xetheg's Carapace: absorbs 20% of incoming damage, adds about 330 AC, and drains about 6,900 health from attackers. Fades at 1.5 million damage or 32 charges.
  • Corrupted Guardian: cuts my melee damage 60% but reduces damage taken 36% for 2 minutes, and each defensive skill grants a 4,171 life tap.
  • Reaver's Bargain: absorbs incoming damage as mana and adds a rune against big melee hits (75% of anything over 31,000), plus 70,000 unconscious health. Needs to be above 20% mana and endurance.
  • Harm Shield: full invulnerability for 18 seconds plus a 25,000 heal.

Order of mitigation: Mantle at 35%, Corrupted Guardian at 36%, then Carapace at 20%, stacked to taste for the situation.

Big Cooldowns and Burn

The heavy hits.

  • Harm Touch: 1.1 million damage (the 115 version; the next does 1.2 million plus 200,000 over time).
  • Thought Leech: deals 225,000 and returns 22% as mana, then another 225,000 returning 7% as endurance. Pair it with Reaver's Bargain when resources run low.
  • Leech Touch: a heavy life tap in the 130,000 to 190,000 range.
  • Visage of Death: a burn that raises melee damage by 265% for a minute.
  • Spire of the Reavers: an all-round buff to spell damage, crit, avoidance, parry, and AC.

Buffs and Utility

The odds and ends.

  • Dark Lord's Aegis: casts all my self buffs and life-tap gear in one ability.
  • Voice of Thule: a buff for anyone that adds 25% hatred generation for 10 minutes.
  • Vampiric aura clicky: returns 2% of my melee damage as health.
  • Familiar: the Emperor Ganak familiar from the Kunark expansions for the stats.
  • Weapon stance: I keep weapon stances on and run sword and shield. You can toggle them off to two-hand without the penalty, but I never give up the defense.
  • Bandoliers: quick swaps for one-hand and two-hand, though I stay one-hand almost always.

AAs and Gear at 120

Defense first, then whatever hits hardest.

AAs

  • Defense first: Combat Agility, Combat Stability, General Sturdiness, and Natural Durability before anything else.
  • Knight's Synergy early: it keeps adding the group absorb (18,000 for the group, six hits), so it can save someone who grabs aggro.
  • Then focus abilities: now that they buff whole lines, power-level them as soon as you can.

Gear

  • Best at 120: Laurion's Song tier 1 (Gallant Reconnaissance), about 300,000 to build with a 20,000 to 25,000 vendor combine. I am currently on Claws of Veeshan tier 3 and raid-tier armor.
  • Weapons: Corrupted Thirst is the tier 1 upgrade at 120; Silver Victory is the tier 2 at 125.
  • One-hander and shield: I prefer it over a two-hander for grouping in almost every case, with three paladins and this Shadowknight already covering damage.

Tanking Cheat Sheet

  1. Pull: Terror of Ander on the run, Parlay for Power to lock hatred, skin and stance up.
  2. Engage: spam 4 (or 5). The life-tap rotation keeps you topped off while the casters fire on the same press.
  3. Group absorb: the withstand line feeds Knight's Synergy III to everyone, so keep it cycling.
  4. Hard pull: lead with Deflection or Shield Flash until the mob is slowed, then layer Mantle, Corrupted Guardian, and Carapace.
  5. Burn: Harm Touch, then Thought Leech into Reaver's Bargain when resources dip, with Spire of the Reavers and Visage of Death up.
  6. Stay sword and board: the defense is worth more than the two-hander damage in the group.

Hello and welcome to how I play my level 120 Shadow Knight in a group. This is not solo content on this guy. This is group uh this is Hobs, my 120 uh Shadow Knight, and he uh a lot of lot of stuff has changed uh in all honesty since the last time I made a video on this character. uh focus abilities are now no longer the latest. Like you got to upgrade them. It’s like the entire line gets buffed now. So, uh we kind of gain a little extra damage from all that and it’s kind of nice. We’ll talk about it here uh when we get So, we’re going to talk about spells first. We’re going to talk about my hot bars and how I have my multi-bind set up. Uh we’ll talk about any other uh clickies and disciplines that I find useful. Uh we’ll make a short mention on gear and AAS and uh go from there. Uh so first up we have a parlay of power. This is one of our taunt spells. It’s also defensive via the recourse here. So it’ll increase our armor armor class by 378 for a minute when we cast that. So if I cast it right now, boom. Uh once we get that, we are also going to get the rec uh what you call it over here? recourse and that’s going to last for 2 minutes and 48 seconds of extra AC. So, you know, with all that we are at what 97 9762 AC in our current setup. Uh but also increases the hatred uh over time. So, every time Oh, as long as that buff’s on there, uh we get 17,000 initially and then 14,000 every 6 seconds for 30 seconds. So, it’s a nice little spell to try and put on everything you can. Uh, next up, we have a Spear of the Blood Wretch. Uh, this is just a single target. Uh, 22,000 damage spell. Uh, I don’t, for some reason, I don’t have a higher level combat dummy. I don’t know where it went. Uh, but you can see there, if we go to spell damage, uh, my current setup, it hit 90,000. So, it’s a nice little spell to have there in your uh, repertoire. It’s near instant cast at a 0.16. Uh like I don’t know if I can cast it while I’m moving, but it’s it’s it’s pretty pretty fast up there. Uh and then we have one, two, three, uh four different life taps. Now, Kuro’s bite is currently the dot over time. Uh it’s a heal over time kind of thing. If we kind of cast it here, throw that on. It’s instant cast, right? So, well, it’s 1.2 seconds when it casts like instant. I don’t know. I don’t I don’t get it. Uh I can cast it at almost any time. And this uh puts on bond on me, which will then uh heal me for actually, is that the same spell? Did I did I cast the right one there? No, that was bond. I’m sorry. Uh, this one is curves bite, right? There we go. That one. They have the same icon. That’s what confused me. Uh, this one is a That’s why I was reading the spell. Uh, it takes health and mana and restores it to the group, right? It’s a nice little spell. It’s like a one minute cool down. So, it fits really good into our multivine there. So, but it’ll uh I mean, look how much damage that one’s doing. Uh, let’s see. This was what? 16,000 damage from this plus a bite of agony, which did another 25,000. So, nice. All right, let’s not skip ahead there. Uh, then we have Touch of Dams, Dire Censure, and Touch of Trixie. Now, these are all life taps. Um, and they are near instant cast. So you see there8 seconds 1.5 seconds. Uh this one here touch of Namdrals will increase our hit points when we cast it. So if I cast this touch, we get a little uh where is it at here? There should be a buff somewhere around here. It’s like impossible to find your buffs. It’s just crazy. This one, gift of damned droughts right here, increases our hatred regeneration by 25% and increases our maximum hit points by 40739, putting us at uh 400,9009 Jeez, 494,000 hit points. So, it’s pretty nice there. I like to do it on cooldown. Um, but you don’t have to do it on cooldown. I just do. It’s a 10-second recast, so it’s not going to get spammed when you spam it. Uh, then we have Dire Asure and Touch of Trixie. These are just two standard life taps with really fast cast times, right? They’re different spell lines and they have different resist uh modifiers. One’s -200, one’s 500. Uh, meaning they’re probably not going to get resisted by anything that you’re fighting. Uh, but, you know, this 15,000 is pretty nice. Like, if we hit that one, what was that? dire. You know, it’s a 16-second reuse, which is fits into the multiind. You know, 54,000 point twin cast. So, that’s going to heal me for 100,000, right? So, those two 54s are going to hit me for 100,000. So, then we have touch, which is another one. It’s a lower recast time. It’s 5 seconds, but you know, 29,000 for an 8,000 base damage. So, pretty nice there. Uh, and those are my in my multi line. We’ll talk about those here in a moment. And then we have Terror of Ander. So, this is just a instant cast terror spell, Jolt uh, aggro, if you will. I can cast it while running because it’s instant. So, I use it for pulling and uh, if I need it during combat, it is in my multivine also. Uh, composite fang is another life tap, but it is different from the other life taps and is it is a uh very unique spell. It’s the progressive spell that you get every uh every other expansion at this point. Uh so this does 55,000 base damage. Returns 120% of that as health uh up to 166,000. Right. increases your targets hatred towards you by 21 and uh cannot be twin cast, right? So, if we pop that, it’s, you know, instant cast. So, we got did a 58,000 uh life tap. We got a lucky critical something there for 11 and uh we get healed for 128 or 20% of that. So, it’s a pretty nice little heal and uh it just it’s a nice spell. It’s a -300 resist instant cast. So, you’re going to want to cast that on cooldown. It’s a 60-second reuse. I use it on cool down. Like, I don’t even care. I don’t wait. I burn it. Uh it’s it’s pretty high on mana. So, like it’s what 12,000 base and then 8 to 10,000 reduction. Uh, it’s high on mana, but I truly do not. In my group right now, I do not notice any kind of mana loss on this guy at all. All right, I lost power there momentarily, but apparently my monitors are not plugged into my uh battery backup, so I lost my monitors. All right. Uh, anyway, composite is great. It doesn’t look like we’re losing it, so we’ll keep going here. Uh, next up I have in uh Indicious Renunciation, which is a AoE life tap. It will hit all the creatures within uh my radius of of whatever it is. It’s not a very large radius. It’s going to be like probably if we stand like right here. Uh, see all those combat dummies? I should hit like all of them. Yeah, you can see I hit even all the way over there to this white one, but I did not hit that one. So, it hits up to 30 targets. Uh, each one will uh heal me for what is that? 9,000 base damage. You can kind of see here I’m getting like 13,000s and some critical uh 72,000, right? So, it’s a nice little bit of damage. Uh there’s hatred involving involved in that. It’ll maximum heal up to 24,000 per target. And uh the spell generates 3792 hatred in addition to something that it does not say here. So the spell tip is is not complete, but uh it’s a nice spell. Uh and then we have bond. Bond is my life tap over time. Just pop it on there. It’s instant cast. Uh what is that? It does a lot of damage, right? Look at that. 118. Sound 150% of the damage dealt is healing back to me up to 19,000 per pulse, right? Like I can’t see how much I’m healing for uh because it’s, you know, it’ll be all over heal at this point since I’m healed. But, you know, you can see there uh 23,000 a tick. This is a nice little insta cast. Pop that on there. Uh I’m, you know, going to it’s not going to heal a hit. Like if we look at my uh smashed window here, I was just fighting air methods in Lauren’s song and they’re hitting for about 19 to 24,000 42,000 and that was uh that was a baseline 120. So it’s not going to heal me like and keep me alive the whole fight, but it is definitely going to put a little bit of a damper on that mob’s uh day because it’s going to keep me, you know, kind of topped off in certain cases. So, it’s pretty nice there. Uh, and then we have Confluent Disruption. This is a uh harmonious disruption line places a disruptive mantle on yourself, which causes you automatically cast precise disruption. Three basers heals between 106 and 120 land upon you. This mantle will fade after 2 minutes or you have done 40 life taps. So, every time I get healed by somebody besides me, I will deal a 16,000 uh life tap reflective life tap and uh incite anger. So, yeah, recourse here. So, heals me for 98,000 and spires raw hatred. Yeah. So when my shaman heals me, I get heals. If my mercenary heals me, I get heals via life taps. All right. So then we have adamant stance. This is our current level stance. Uh way back at like 75, we got Steelely Stance and uh this is just a phenomenal HP buff. This is 41,000 hit points. you know, getting us almost to that 500k mark with a with an empowered campfire. I can get over 500k. Uh, in that, you know, this really makes us, you know, that extra extra beefy, right? And, uh, we can take another hit cuz that’s, you know, that’s about it. You know, it’s another hit, right? That’s one more hit that we can take uh before we go splat. And that’s pretty nice. And then uh Zoracius Zenatius skin is uh our current level skin. We get this whole line here for the shadow knight which gives us uh an absorb like 12,000 for the next three hits made against me and it’s a you know charge base attack. So every every hit takes a little less damage. You want to make sure you always have this thing on. Uh it’s it’s like like this interface is terrible for these short-term buffs and uh it is hard to like keep track of this stuff, but so I I kind of overcast it because it’s a I mean, how am I supposed to like stop in the middle of combat and see what I’m doing here without like slowing the whole world down? Uh but those are like my everyday carry spells. Like I don’t really switch out of these. like I I pretty much only upgrade these lines and I’ve been using the same spell set for at least the last 10 levels. I just switch switch out whatever the current level one is. Uh we also have a pet. Uh the current one is minion of Isal. Uh he’s okay. He doesn’t die. Um he’s he’s been around for a while. He’s blue at uh 120. He’s a 118 pet. Uh, we also get a buff gift of Azul, which just gives him a little haste and whatnot. But I think he gets hasted from the shaman aura that everybody gets. But, uh, there. So, that’s the spells. I don’t think there’s much else. Um, I’m going to go into disciplines afterwards because those are kind of entwined in this multivine here. But, you know, actually, let’s do disciplines first because I’m I’m realizing this whole entire bar is disciplines. Uh, so I have a bunch of disciplines here in this little bar. I have some more up here in this little bar. And then I have a bunch in my multivine. We’ll talk about the ones in the bar here first. Now, spite of what uh is it? Spite of Minella. Now, it doesn’t look like it’s got I haven’t gotten the update for this one yet. So I think there is one at uh between 120 and 125 is the next update for this one because I do not see another timer. 14 here. But this one will deal we will deal deal less melee damage but our our ch our melee strikes have a chance to uh debuff the target and give us some life tap out of that. So it’s it’s a nice little thing. I I never use it. I truly never use it and that’s on me. I I should probably use it to be a nice little uh bonus damage, you know, healing thing, but in my group, I don’t need I don’t need the healing. Like, I’m overhealed by my shaman. Uh so, not really big deal there. Next up, we have Scourge Skin. Now, this is an AA, so we’ll talk about it even though it’s one of my everyday ones cuz they’re all intertwined. Uh, this will give me a 5,000 point damage shield that uh, stacks with every other damage shield in the game and it will work last for 200 hits, right? So, it’s pretty nice. Uh, deflection discipline. Now, this is a level 59 discipline, but it gives us a pretty much immunity to all fronted frontward attacks while holding a shield. This is a fantastic ability for I would say bosses that you’re you’re pulling and you’re not 100% sure you you can tank it without getting it slowed or something like that or you need that extra bit of time. It’s you know so like the shaman can do debuffs versus healing, right? So it’s 12 seconds. It’s plenty of time to get off anything you want and stuff like that. And typically when I have deflect deflection up, I do not die. So it’s pretty nice. Then we have uh FA Fre Frath Mantle. It’s a level. It’s the current level mantle. This is one of our defensive abilities. It wraps our our body in the souls of your fallen victims, absorbing 35% of incoming melee damage for one minute. uh it’ll last for 3.1 million damage and then it’ll heal us uh when it fades for 47,000 points of healing. So, it’s pretty nice little defensive there. Note that it’s 35% of incoming melee. And then we have uh Zthra Zthigs Carropos. This is 20% of incoming damage, but it increases our armor class by 33. and uh drains what is that 6,900 health from our attackers. So every time they attack, we get a little life tap and as soon as it does 1.5 million damage, it fades away, you know. So uh it only lasts for 32 charges. So whatever comes first, which uh I’m going to say is going to be that 1.5 damage. 1.5 million damage. Yeah, that’s 1.5 million. Yeah. Uh, and then we have corrupted guardian discipline. Now, this one’s pretty interesting. I don’t remember it early on in our playthrough, but uh, like I don’t see another timer of 17 until like way back here at 107. So, it might have been something I skipped and just really didn’t pay much attention to. Uh, but this gives us a fighting style of an unholy guardian, reducing our melee damage potential by 60%, but also reducing the damage you take by 36% for 2 minutes. This discipline will trigger the corrupted guardian effect will also cause your defensive skills to grant you an additional 4171 potential or point life tap. Uh, this effect will fade after 120 life taps or 3 minutes. So, this is pretty nice defensive wise, right? This is uh so whenever I block, repost, bash for the next three minutes, I will trigger a life tab. Uh so you have to have your shield on, I guess, for this, it says. I don’t know if that’s true. Uh but definitely I keep my shield on most of the time. So, uh I can tank like three, four mobs in a named with a shield on. With the two-hander, I can tank two maybe two, maybe. And they they have to be like the weakest ones like blues. Like it’s not even it’s not even it’s not even night. It’s so night and day that I just I keep the shield on. Um now I I find this one pretty good. Like if we look at like the the percentage of total, right? This one’s 36%, Mantle’s 35% and Cara is 20%. So, uh, you can kind of see like, you know, you’d want to do probably mantle first and then corrupted and then Caras, but, you know, it depends on your situation. Then I have perfected his undead on here. Uh, visage of death. Uh, this is more of a burn ability. Kind of increases our melee damage by 265% for one minute. And I think it turns do turns us into a zombie. And then we have visited decay which will increase the damage of our spells. And uh I think it just says dots. I think it’s just our dots. So our our dots go up by 65%. Like I don’t use this one as much because I don’t I don’t have any dots except for this life tap on my bar. And then we have inertent influence. So causing your uh covers your body in uh armor causing increasing your armor cast class by 261 absorbing 20% of incoming damage. Now you’ll notice this has the same uh timer as Carropos. So this one uh we haven’t gotten the update for it, right? The new version of this is going to be in the uh outer brood I think uh expansion. And I just haven’t gone there to buy those spells. And that’s going to be at a higher level. But see, this is a 115 discipline. So, I’m going to pick carropos over this like every day of the week. Just depends on your uh what you’re doing. Then we got Reaver’s bargain, which is another crazy strong spell. when activated consumes 950 endurance per second, increasing your unconscious health by 70,000 points and absorbing 5% of incoming damage with your mana at a rate of 100 mana or 100 damage to 40 mana while also granting a rune that protects against unccoming melee damage that inflicts at least 31,000 damage, absorbing 75% of the damage that exceeds 31 1,000 for 2 minutes and 30 seconds. The rune can absorb 517,000 before fading. It can only be activated if you’re above 20% mana and endurance and cannot be manually removed early. It will trigger reavers exhaustion should your should your mana or endurance drop below 10% which ends the bargain draining mana returning uh remaining mana and endurance. This is an interesting spell. It’s very makes you very tanky uh in certain situations. Now, mobs that hit over 31,000, obviously, that is every mob we fight. Like, if we look at our, you know, the smash log from before almost, you know, most these hits are probably close to over that that threshold. Now, I got a lot of other things going on to lower these numbers down, but you if we scroll up a little bit, like there’s some 30,000s, 39,000s. Uh, and this is this is only fighting one mob right here. Now, imagine you’re fighting multiple mobs and all of that damage gets absorbed by your mana instead. Uh, it gets into the the kind of cool, you know, kind of bargain there, right? So, it’s a pretty nice nice little spell. Uh, let’s see here. Where are we at? Uh, let’s do harm touch. Let’s go over here because this is in the multi mine. That gets a little confusing. Uh, harm touch does 1.1 million damage at this point. Uh, this is the level 115 version. We haven’t I haven’t bought the new one yet. That one does 1.2 million and then it does 200,000 over time. It’s insane. Uh, then we have leech touch. Uh this does what? 190,000 uh life tap or 130,000 life tap. And then we have a mana tap for uh let’s see 25,000. Returns that all as mana and then deals that much more mana as damage. It’s insane. Oh, it returns it as it does. Oh my god, I read I read that all wrong. It deals 225,000, returns 22% of that as mana, then then it goes out of its way to do another 225,000 and return 7% of that as endurance. So, if I pop Reaper’s re uh reaver’s bargain and then I pop Thought Leech right after that, uh you know, when I’m lower on resources, I’m going to get some of those resources back. So definitely a nice thing. Uh then we have shield flash. So shield flash saves my life. Uh this one is so great. It uses your shield to block all incoming attacks for six seconds. This is just like deflection. Uh it t but it takes mana and endurance. And it saves lives. Honestly, it saves lives. It hasn’t been updated since the broken mirror, but uh it’s it’s so good. And it’s a 4-minute reuse, so it’s pretty much always up. Uh, forceful rejuvenation. Uh, this just like resets any timers on some stuff, right? Uh, see, we have projection of doom. Summons a level 115 projection that generates a bunch of hatred and all that. And, uh, if it survives 15 seconds, uh, it has generated, it will transfer all that hatred to me. So, it’s a nice little taunt there. Then we have Spire of the Reavers. Believe this is in one of my burns. Uh, but this just increases all our damage, right? Increases our spell damage, our critical spell damage, everything. Our melee avoidance, our chance to parry, our armor class. It’s just an all-around great buff. Every class gets one. It’s fantastic. All right. And then we get uh Explosion of Hatred. That’s just an AoE uh an AoE taunt. Same with Explosion of Spite, another AoE taunt. And then we have Stream of Hatred, which is another AoE taunt. Uh Rest the Dead is just a lull for Undead. Don’t really use that. Harm Shield is in complete invulnerability for 18 seconds with a 25 point 25,000 point heal, right? Uh, then we have Purity of Death, which cures some stuff, but not a whole lot. The big bonus here for me is the detrimental effect. So, if I get snared, I can probably pop it off. And then I have my breastplate clicky, which uh this point, what does it do? Uh, muted with a chance to consuming zeal when you’re melee struck in melee, right? and uh drains 11,000 health on uh whenever we get hit, right? And it also lowers the or increases the duration of uh deflection discipline. Let’s see here. Disable weapon stance. Uh right now I have weapon stances enabled. Uh you can disable weapon stances. So instead of gaining these buffs like the two-handed proficiency and defensive proficiency, uh you you don’t gain those, right? And so it allows you to two-hand without taking the penalty. But I I I don’t know. It’s hard for me to say that I would want to give up this defensive at all, right? Because I’m always using my sword and shield. So it’s there. It’s a toggle. Like if I disable it, it’ll enable it, right? So, it just depends on what you want there. Probably should put it like right here so it’s a little easier to know where it’s at. Uh, and then we have Voice of Thul. So, we can go ahead and cast that. Voice of Thul is a buff that we can target on anybody that will increase their hatred generation by 25% for 10 minutes. It’s really nice. Uh, then I have bandeliers for one hand and two hand depending on what I want to do. I mostly stay one hand though. And then I already showed the pet buff. And then we have a clicky for the mod rod from the mage. The phoenix flower from questing. The bloodrinker’s coating uh which gives us a vampiric aura clicky which gives us 2% of our melee damage back as health. Uh very nice there. And then I have whatever my current familiar is, which I think this is the one I have the the highest level of, but it’s not the one we use for stats because we have the Emperor Ganak familiar from one of the Kunarch expansions. And then we have Dark Lords Asia, which gives us all our self buffs in one single ability along with all the life tap stuff. Pretty nice. All right, we that was a long way. So, let’s talk about the hot bar because that’s that’s probably more important than anything else. Now, I play all my characters in a multi-bind, right? I push one button and the UI will activate multiple buttons, right? So, all my keys are bound to four and five. It’s very key to how this works. So, if I push four, anything here with a four on it is going to be activated. Same with the five button. Anything on all these are bound to four and five, right? So by push into either button, it’ll activate. So keep that in mind as we go forward from here. Uh I have a hide corpse macro right here that just auto inventories anything on my cursor, hides all NPC corpses and uh forages. And then we have snare. Uh I don’t snare much, but when I need to, it’s there on three. Then we have the multivine. It’s a attack on pet swarm pet attack. So that just makes my pets attack whatever I’m attacking and that goes into all this. So we have taunt repudiate which is a mini defensive thing here that goes for like two hits, right? So it’s like two hits plus whatever the focus is add to it. Uh if we go ahead and click that uh it’s actually six with focus, right? And this one. So there’s there’s like a lot going on at the high end here. So whenever we do withstand line, which is repudiate, we get a buff, right? We get night synergy three on everybody in the group member, which gives everybody a 12,000 point absorb, right? So keep that in mind. And then we have the enduring reproval which takes the withstand line and adds uh extra hits to it. Right? So as we level up and we’re going to get a few more ranks of that. We will get more hits onto this ability here which is a base damage of two. Right? There’s only two. So that reduces n damage done by 90% for 12 seconds or until 84,000 damage is done. So that’s why you see these these hits, you know, some of these are 42,000, some of them were 7,000 86,000 is because I have charges of repudiate. And as those charges fade off and go down because I’m getting hit over that 12 seconds, you know, it’s, you know, I I take a big hit every so often, right? And we if we do repudiate again, you’ll see that it is a what at least a 15-second reuse, maybe 12 seconds. So like maybe it’s like one to one down time. But if I’m getting hit by a lot of stuff, this this is going to go down pretty quick because it’s only like five hits. And if you’re fighting like two or three mobs, they’re going to they’re going to take it pretty quick. So it’s a nice little defensive thing to have there. Uh but then I have so spear uh curs bite terror composite fang touch of namros dire censure touch of tixie uh indacious uh renunciation and then blood of bin u. Now, Blood of Ben doesn’t actually get cast most of the time. Uh, and you’ll see why here in a second, but I have it there just in case. Like, there’s like a very specific bard buffed kind of situation where that one will trigger, but otherwise, then we have Chattering Bone. This is our swarm pet. We’ll send some uh skeletons to attack. Bite of Chaos, which is a direct damage uh heal, mana restore, endurance restore. uh nuke one minute reuse angelless emnity which is our AA taunt. Uh I do it on cooldown just cuz I want everything attacking me and it doesn’t really matter. We got production of doom which we’ve already talked about. It’s just a um it’s right here. It’s just a I’m going to move that cuz I don’t need that in both places. It’s just a uh taunt really. We have grizzly grizzle blade which uh just strikes our target twice with a blade awise for 1,400. And then we have unrelenting acrimony which causes our target up to 120 to give me its undivided attention. So it’s a taunt. It deals 5,300 damage every 6 seconds for 18 seconds. So about 15 to you know 15 18,000 damage give or take. And then your a your enemy allies actions will generate 95% less of their normal hatred and a reflection will increase all hatred you generate by 55% and heal me for 5,300 during that time. Right? So it’s a nice little defensive defensive taunt buff, right? It’s just I use on cool down. It’s great. Uh sanguine blade. So, this one will strike our our target with three sword attacks with a base damage of 4,300, 4,600, and 5,000 and places you in a rage, which will cause the damage of your spells between 111 and 120 to by uh increase that damage by 3600 and give you haste and give you a minimum damage damage on your melee strikes. All right, so this one, this is a buff. It’s a 20-minute reuse. You could theoretically take it out of the the multivine and use it as a cool down. Uh but I’m kind of lazy so I just leave it in there. And it the the way it like kind of works, right? Like most these things are up cuz you you pull pull pull and then things are up cuz you stop to get mana or something and they’re all right. Like it just it really doesn’t matter to me. But I I use it on cooldown. It’s nice. gives every single one of my life taps an extra what 3,600 damage. So, it’s pretty nice. And then we have reflexive resentment, which I don’t see another updated timer for this one. So, I’m assuming we’re going to get an update to this in the outer brood or in Laurian song where this is uh three two-handed slash attacks that just happen, right? You don’t even have to have a two-hander on uh for 1930. And then each of those heals the group for 40,000. It’s insane, right? All right. So, that’s all the things in my multiind. Let’s kind of see what this looks like when I’m when I’m casting it. So, I’m just going to be spamming four. I’m hitting four is pretty much as fast as my finger will move, if that makes any sense. Some of these things don’t work um because this thing’s not damaging us. But you can see here, you know, it’s going to cycle through all these spells and uh get get most of them right. We’re down here now. And some of these are starting to re refresh. And uh we should get to Insidious without a bard playing anything. I believe that’s Yeah, there’s Insidious. And let’s see if we actually get to the bond. Like it typically requires me to have a bar playing uh quick time. and stuff like that to really get it get that one to trigger. But you can see here it’s just a nice little rotation of mostly life taps to kind of get that going now. And you’ll see in my solo series as my uh solo uh shadow knight guard goes through. He’s going to use he uses more dots. And if I was playing one character, I would use more dots. I wouldn’t use a heavy rotation like I do, but uh for my other characters, the mage and the wizard, they have to have they have to be activated like every single spellcast, right? And uh that otherwise they’re doing nothing. And so this was my compromise to get it so I can spam one button and I can get everybody active and going. And it’s it’s works really well for me. I think I I think I can get into like the 3 to 4 million DPS with these guys. Maybe it was 5 million last I looked on Zandicar, but they they are doing pretty good, right? Like as long as I do everything right, they’re doing pretty good. It is it’s a solid rotation for this exact setup, right? Like you got caster DPS, you have like boxing, right? You have caster DPS, you have a shaman healer. And you have a bard. And it’s it seems to be like pretty good for me. Like I can just spam this all day. It doesn’t look like this one triggers unless I have a bard. So, uh I’d have to turn the bard on for that. But I usually just cast it like that anyway. So, it’s not a really big deal. But, uh yeah. So, you can kind of see like how it works there. It’s all one button. All right. So, that’s my multi-bind. That’s how all that’s set up. There’s nothing really else in here that’s of any kind of interest. Uh, let me see here. Uh, let’s we talked about AAS. So, let’s talk about where I would go. AAS, right? So, we we’re 120. Auto grant went away. Uh, I’m focusing 100% on combat, combat agility, combat stability, uh, general sturdiness, and natural durability. Once I have those, uh, I’ll be good. Uh, then it’s pretty much whatever else. Now, I mentioned early on, they changed these focus abilities. Instead of saying it works with X spell, now it works with X spell line. uh which is a huge buff really because you you you had to like spend your 110 AAS to get your next thing or you had to use your old spells and not lose that damage, right? Cuz you’re getting this damage from uh the you know the touch of inter line but if you didn’t upgrade to that next level and you went to the next line and that spell in that line, you lost that damage and this is just an allaround better better way to do it. Uh, so it’s kind of nice now. It takes the focus on having to, you know, power level these as soon as possible. Uh, I would say get Knight’s Synergy as soon as possible because this will continue to add that that absorb. So, you know, it’s an 18,000 absorb for everybody in the group, six direct damage hits or spells. um you know that can definitely save save somebody’s life uh if they take aggro for a second right so definitely important there uh gearwise I would go for whatever the best you can get uh at 120 the best gear you can get isan song gear I think I have a piece on me here I haven’t done any gear yet but uh so uh inspect so this would be the tier tier one Laurian son gear you can wear at 120. Now this is probably you know some of the best you can get right now. Now I personally am wearing tier three. So, if we if you do this right, um I I have tier three COV armor and then I have uh some tier three or I guess RA just raid tier uh armor for COV, I think it is. I think this one’s COV. So, you can kind of see, you know, the difference between some of this stuff and the stats and whatnot. Now, these these boots here, if I make these, I mean, look how look at the look at the increase there, right? Uh I I don’t gain any focus or anything like that, but I gain a bunch of stats here. I gained some heroic dexterity. I gain 2,000 hit points. Uh I gain 119 AA, I mean 119 AC. I mean, this is this is this is where I got to go, right? This is this is I don’t think it counts AUGs in this comparison, but definitely uh the AUGs are going to, you know, really really help out there. I lose mana regen, but who cares, right? Uh so definitely, you know, you’re going to want to go for this galliant reconnaissance armor. And it’s it’s fairly common. Like if we look on the look on the bazaar, right? And let’s take go here. Now you you buy it, but you still have to go buy the thing. Like some of these are like 500 a piece uh all the way from 99,000. So it just depends on the piece, right? There’s 2,000. So definitely you could outfit a character for less than uh I think 300k because it does cost like 20k or 25k from the vendor in Laurian song to com make the final combine. So keep that in mind uh when you’re thinking about that. So that’s the armor I would go for. I would go for uh the weapons in there also. Uh I think I got some weapon on me here. Uh that is that’s something else. What is that one? That’s a bard weapon. Yeah, I don’t think I have Let me see. I might have them in my bank. Like they’re they’re either in my bank or on Aldridge. Uh, see here. What do we got? So much stuff in here. Yeah, I don’t see I don’t think they’re on this guy yet. But, uh, yeah. So, that’s kind of where you’d want to go. Let me see if I can find one real quick in the bazaar. Uh, it’s like silver silver victory I think is the name of the uh tier 2. It’s not for sale right now. Uh, typically it’s it’s for sale. I I usually have one on one of my guys. Uh let’s see here. Steel sort by actually sort by ratio so we can kind of compare those. Yeah, there’s a 41 uprising 41. Uh I think that’s the uh the group berserker one. Uh see here. Let’s just narrow that down to Shadow Knight, so you’re not seeing other junk. Uh the Well, I guess these are relevant. These are the uh City of Mist uh hardcore heritage weapons, but some of these prices are a bit junky. See here. And they’re all about the same as the tier three. Maybe a little bit better. Uh, that’s a two-hander. That’s a two-hander also. So, you know, they’re about they’re equivalent, I would say, depending on what you pick. Uh, so here’s the like the memory forge. This is a tier tier one one. I just don’t see it. Uh, like there usually is one for sale, but I don’t see one right now. Uh, let’s do one hand slash. Maybe that’ll narrow it down. Yeah, there we go. Silver victory. All right. So, this is kind of like where you’re going to want to want to pick up. Uh, I currently have the like the COV raid weapon. So, you’re going to want to pick up this at 125. This is the tier 2 uh tier 2. Yeah, tier two group weapon. So, you’re going to want this one. There is a tier one one. I just I think it’s corrupted thirst. Yeah, this is the tier one. So, this is the one you can wear use at 120. So, this would be like the first upgrade. So, this is like a 3 DPS upgrade over what I’m wearing the raidwise, right? So, definitely a nice weapon there to upgrade to. And then position into this and then you’d position into either uh the tier the the raid tier weapons or you’d position yourself into the tier three uh weapon which does not seem to well I guess you’d have to look under containers or something like that. Uh what is it called? I don’t even know what they’re called anymore. So it it doesn’t matter. It’s it’s it’s a rabbit hole we don’t have to go down. But that’s kind of like the where you’d want to go. You’d want to go with the one-handed shield. I would recommend uh two-hander if you you know you’re feeling froggy, but I you know with two 125 paladins uh and another 120 shadow knight, this 120 shadow knight, I feel like onehanded onehander plus a shield is the way to go. I’ve tried two-handers on all of them. I’ve tried uh I think Holdridge has the the Laurian song raid stuff and I I prefer I prefer the two the one-hander over the two-hander in almost every case where I’m I’m grouping, right? Unless I go back and do all the rays and then I use a 200 just to kill everything one shot, but it’s uh definitely definitely the uh the way to go there. Uh your mileage will vary and you will have different opinions though. But uh I think that’s everything. I can’t think of anything else I’ve missed. have gone on for almost an hour now. And I think that’s everything how I play. Now, after I do all the characters in this set, there will be a how I play them all together video. and I’ll do that or you know just we’ll go off to like some Laurian song or out of Rude Zone and just grind together uh with them and kind of show how they uh work in synergy and we’ll show some parsing and stuff like that in a situation that’s more realistic than me hitting a combat dummy and saying I can do x amount of DPS when in actuality that doesn’t even matter. Uh combat dummies are not real combat. They’re just, you know, showing stuff because in real combat, you know, like you need the heals and you get more bonuses from the heals, uh, and all that stuff landing on you and all kinds of just synergetic stuff that all six of my characters give me. So, thank you very much for watching and please have a fantastic
