How I Play My Level 125 Shadowknight

How I play my level 125 EverQuest Shadowknight tank as a one-button box: the life-tap spell lineup, the Paradoxical Disruption AoE-taunt aggro package, three stacking defensive cooldowns, a long multibind, burns, and defensive-first AA. Parses around 538,000 DPS from melee.

The Shadowknight is my tank, and at level 125 he is done leveling and playing on one button. The spell bar is almost all life taps, which keep me healed while I hold aggro, and a self-refreshing AoE-taunt buff means I rarely have to think about threat. On top of that sit three stacking defensive cooldowns for the rough moments. He still parses about 538,000 DPS, almost entirely from melee, so his damage climbs with his gear.

Multibox One-button tank Life-tap self-healing Defensive AA first
Trash parse (Harbinger Spire)~538,000 DPS, mostly melee
Crit chance~40% (259 luck)
Hit points~654,000

Session Overview

Tank first, damage follows.

  • Role: main tank. The spells have basically been the same since Empires of Kunark, just gaining a level each expansion.
  • Damage: about 538,000 DPS on the parse, almost all of it from melee strikes, with a roughly 40% crit chance off 259 luck. That means gear, especially weapons, is what raises his damage.
  • Playstyle: one button. Everything is multibound to one key so every spell and AA fires on cooldown as I spam it.
  • No dots: the multibind constantly re-refreshes anything without a recast, so dots do not fit. It is all life taps and instant nukes instead.

Life-Tap Lineup

Damage that heals me.

  • Spear of Lazam: the current spear, about 28,000 and near-instant. It crit for 459,000 on the bar.
  • Charka's Bite: a mana life tap for the group, about 2,169 mana and 5,400 damage, which crits near 86,000 with all the focuses.
  • Touch of Mortimus: the current step in the Touch line. Tiny damage, but it leaves Gift of Mortimus behind, a 6,000 hit-point buff that puts him at 654,000. Cast on cooldown.
  • Dire Rebuke and Touch of Flariton: two more life taps, roughly 19,000 and 10,000 base, higher with mods.
  • Reciprocal Fang: the current progressive life tap, a 77,000 tap that returns up to 230,000 health and dumps a big pile of hatred, one-minute reuse.
  • Insidious Repudiation: a near-instant AoE life-tap taunt, about 17,000 per hit and much more on crits.
  • Bond of Tatalros: a life tap over time that crit-twincast for 297,000, a constant heal stream back to me.
  • Terror of Tarantis: the terror line, an instant long-range hate jolt I like on the pull.

Aggro and Taunts

Set it and forget it.

  • Paradoxical Disruption: whenever I get healed it fires a reflective discourse that AoE taunts everything and adds a 13,000 heal. With a healer behind me it keeps aggro locked without any effort.
  • Petition for Power: a taunt that also grants a recourse worth about 500 AC.
  • On the bind: Chatter of Bones (swarm pet), Ageless, and Projection of Doom, which are all extra taunts, plus a summoned pet that hands its aggro to me.
  • Voice of Thule: an AA for extra threat, always running.

Gripe: Paradoxical Disruption and Unwavering Stance are short-duration buffs (about 4 and 8 minutes) that I wish were just baseline to the class.

Defensive Cooldowns

Three stacking layers.

  • Geomimus Mantle: the level 123 version absorbs about 35% for a minute or 4M damage, then heals 60,000 when it wears off. My pick for a hard-hitting named or a bad pull.
  • Kanghammer's Carapace: absorbs 20%, adds 424 AC, and gives an 8,800 life tap on hit for 2 minutes or 1.9M damage. This is my default.
  • Corrupted Guardian Discipline: a tanky stance that cuts my melee damage but heavily reduces damage taken, and grants a 4,100 life tap every time I dodge, block, or parry.
  • Always up: Deflection (needs a shield), Krizad's Skin, and Scourge Skin for the damage shield.

Incensive Influence: shares Carapace's timer, raising armor class and absorbing 20% for less endurance, but I always pick Carapace. Reaver's Bargain is supposed to be strong, but losing all my resources when it drops does not fit how I play.

How One Key Runs Everything

Hotbar 6, every key bound twice.

  • Every button on hotbar 6 is bound to 4 and also to 5. Pressing either activates whatever is ready. One press, one action per spell; the AAs are off the global cooldown and fire when they please.
  • Three buttons come before it: hide corpse with auto-inventory, the snare AA, then the bind itself.
  • The bind opens with attack on, pet attack, pet swarm and merc assist. The merc is new here; at 110 and 115 the same bind drove only the pets.
  • The order is set so refresh timers stagger, which is what lets one press reach the bottom of the list rather than stalling at the top.
  • No dots. They have no recast, so on a spammed key they would be refreshed forever and never tick. The solo Shadowknight is played on this exact bind and does carry more of them.
  • Some entries need a Bard. Bond and Insidious Repudiation want quick time up to fire reliably, and Repudiation is the least important thing on the bar, so it is left parked.

The Multibind

Spells first, then the AAs and disciplines.

Entry What it does
Attack, pet attack, pet swarm, merc assistThe head of the bind
TauntThe skill, kept in the bind so hate never lapses between spells
GirdThe current withstand line
Spear of LazamA disease nuke, 27,300 base. Pure damage, no tap
Charka's BiteGroup tap. 5,200 damage, handing the group 3,800 health and 2,100 mana
Terror of TarantisLife tap. Could come out with little loss, and there is an unbuilt plan to pair it with Protest on one key
Reciprocal FangThe progression tap, firing the highest rank you know
Touch of FlaritonLife tap, a flat 10,500
Bond of TatalrosWants Bard quick time to fire reliably
Insidious RepudiationParked. The least important thing on the bar, and it needs a Bard
Chattering BonesAA. Swarm pet
Bite of ChaosA nuke plus a life tap and mana tap, on cooldown
Ageless EnmityAnother taunt
Projection of DoomA taunt pet that builds aggro and hands it over
Incapacitating BladeA secondary discipline melee attack, on cooldown
Unconditional AcrimonyDiscipline, 10 minute reuse. Undivided attention up to 130, 6,800 every 6 seconds for 18 seconds, allies generate 90% less threat, own hate up 60%, and it heals
Incarnadine BladeThree sword attacks, then a rage buff: spell damage, haste and minimum melee. 20 minute reuse
Visage of ResolveThree two-handed strikes at 800 base, below max level so it will grow
Reflexive RetributionThree two-handed strikes at 2,700, healing the group 5,600
Aurian BaneThe bane for the Outer Brood curse. Parked in a window that is never watched, so it cannot jam the bind

Two ten and twenty minute cooldowns are sitting in a spammed bind, Unconditional Acrimony and Incarnadine Blade. That is deliberate, and the reasoning is in the burn panel: the burn button is full, and a second one would cost more in delay than the saved cooldown is worth. Raiding, they would be saved for the moment that needs them.

The Burn Button

Full, and that is the design constraint.

  • Spire of the Reverent, the tank spire.
  • Projection of Doom and Forceful Rejuvenation, a taunt pet and a full cooldown reset.
  • The breastplate click, triggering Consuming Veil for a 20,000 heal on hit.
  • Blood Drinker's Coating, a 2% melee leech. There is an upgrade in Night of Shadows not yet picked up.

The philosophy, and it explains the bind above. During a burn the only job is to stay alive while everybody else kills the mob fast. This button is already full, so anything else would mean a second burn key, and pressing two would delay the survival abilities that are the point of the first. So the long offensive cooldowns go in the normal bind and fire whenever they come up. That is named as an optimisation somebody else could make differently, rather than as the right answer.

AAs

Defense before offense.

  • Core first: he is a tank, so I max the tank lines. Every point into Combat Stability lets him live longer, about 1% AC each, up near 12,000 AC with everything buffed.
  • Dark Lord's Unity: worth it early just for the convenience of putting every self buff on one button.
  • Then Knight's Synergy: the last two ranks are a big defensive jump, roughly an 18,000 absorb.
  • Offense last: after Combat Stability, agility, armor of wisdom, general sturdiness, and natural durability are done.

Gear

Tank pieces and the right shield.

  • Armor: the Outer Brood tier three trade-skill gear is about equal to Night of Shadows raid gear, roughly 16,000 AC unbuffed. The raid version is about 33% better on AC.
  • Weapons and shield: the war sword and the tower shield. On FV, buy the actual tank shield, not the multiclass one; it is about 100 AC different.
  • Jewelry: the Laurion's Song necklace, the Outer Brood ring, and a Night of Shadows cloak if you go back for it.
  • Damage ceiling: he has Laurion raid weapons now. With Outer Brood raid weapons and max AA I expect him to baseline around a million DPS.

The One-Button Tank Loop

  1. Pull: Terror for the long-range hate jolt, then spam the bind.
  2. Hold aggro: Paradoxical Disruption AoE taunts every time you are healed, backed by Petition for Power and the taunt AAs.
  3. Self-heal: the life-tap chain (Spear, Bite, Fang, Bond, the Touches) keeps your health topped while you tank.
  4. Rough spot: Ignominious Mantle for a hard named, Carapace as the default, Corrupted Guardian Stance to turtle.
  5. Burn: Spire of the Reverent, breastplate, Forceful Rejuvenation, and stay alive.
  6. Gear up: tier three or raid armor, war sword, and the real tower shield.

Hello and welcome to how I play my level Shadow Knight. We have hit the level cap. We are uh we are done leveling. Uh but we’re going to talk about what we got to do next and how I play this character at this point. We’re going to talk about spells. We’re going to talk about all my hobbar buttons, which are just so many. Uh we’re going to talk about everything. Uh we’re going to talk about AAS. We’re going to talk about uh uh where to go next and gear. So, uh spell-wise, the spells have pretty much been the same since I think about Empire’s Akunarkc. Uh we just add a level to them. So, first up, we have Petition of Power. This is a taunt ability. It gives us lots of hatred and a recourse that gives us uh almost 500 AC, so it’s definitely a nice spell to have. Next up, we have Spear of Lam. Uh, this is our current level spear. Shadow Knights get a spear spell. This one does 28,000 damage. Uh, and it’s a near instant cast. So, I kind of like it. See there? If we go to spell damage right here, 459,000 from that with a lucky critical. Next up, we have Chara’s Bite, which is our current level mana life tap that helps the group. Uh, it does 26 uh 2169 mana drain, but it does 5400 damage. Now, it seems pretty low, but once you like add in all the focuses and stuff that a shadow gets, 86,000 damage with a lucky critical. You’ll notice that I have uh I’m getting lucky criticals constantly because I have uh uh where’s the luck? 259 luck at the moment. Uh, next up we have Touch of Mortmus, which is our current level. Touch of Enerok spell. Uh, does nine damage and then gives me 6,000 hit points for a few minutes. Uh, what is that? I think it’s 15. Uh, I got so many spells. I don’t even know where it’s at. Gift of Mort 16 minutes. Uh, and it puts us at uh 654,000 hit points. Very nice spell. I do it on cool down just for the life tap, but the bonus is the extra hit points. Uh, next up we have Dire Book. Uh, this is just another life tap for 19,000. Uh, so we hit that right now. Finally didn’t get a lucky critical. Uh, 66,000 life tap. That’s 66,000 health back to me. Uh, every time I cast that. Uh, next up we have uh Touch of Flareon. Uh, just another life tap. 10,000 goes up to 36,000 with mods. Uh, and then we have terror. Uh, I like to keep the terror line of spells memorized. It’s a instant target uh, jolt target uh, hatred. Uh, so it’s pretty nice. I like it on pull because it’s got a nice long range and uh, works really well. Uh, next up we have Reciprocal Fang, which is the current level progressive uh, life tap ability. Uh, it does quite a bit of little little added stuff in here. So, it deals a 77,000 lifetime of 230,000 health back, right? increases the targets hatred to us by uh or two 32,000. Jeez, I didn’t even see that number. Uh and then it can be twin cast, but I don’t believe we can twin cast as a shadow knight. There might be an item we can get, but I don’t have it. So, if we click that, it’s a one minute reuse instant cast. And you can see there 82,000 u life tap. So, that would have been a pretty nice heal. Uh, next up I have Insidious Repudiation, which is our current level uh AoE life tap taunt uh ability. It’s a near instant cast. If we go over here to this like pile of uh guys I got going on, pretty much hits all of those and it looks to be about, let’s just say 17,000 crit uh with 94 86,000 lucky criticals, right? So, it’s it’s does a lot of damage or 17,000 normal, not a crit. The crits are much larger. Uh, then I have bond of a tatalolis and this is a life tap over time. Uh, if I just click that instant cast, you see there, it’s going to do 297,000 damage on a critical twin cast. I mean, gez, 64,000 twin cast. It’s just insane amount of damage issues. Uh but that that’s constant heal heal stream back to me. You can’t see it now because I don’t have any damage uh on me, but you can see that. Next up, we have uh paradoxical disruption, which just is a uh uh whenever I get healed, it’ll do this precise disruptor, which will then do a reflective uh discourse triggering that. So, incites anger on everybody. does a 13,000 point heal and then expansive just hatred for everybody. So every time I get healed, I get hatred on everybody around me. Now, keeping this up is fantastic because it’s an AoE taunt that I don’t have to think about and most of the time it pulls aggro and I don’t have to think about aggroa again after that. Now, the duration uh is less than less than what I would like. Uh let me see if I can find it here. There’s just so many spells. It’s just like a little overwhelming. Uh maybe it’s just on the tool tip here. Uh four minutes. Looks like it’s focused to four minutes. So, yeah, there it is right there. 4 minutes or 40 charges. So, if I get 40 heals, it’s gone. If I wait 40 4 minutes, it’s gone. I I wish it was more of just like an always on thing. I feel like I feel like these short duration buffs are just pointless and they should just be always on. Uh unwavering stance. Uh I mean, this is a current the current level uh hit point buff, right? It always adds hit points to us. You know, we’re 654,000 hit points right now. It adds 53. So, that’s how much we would have without that, right? Uh, it lasts for a good while, but it has like a decay factor to it where it wears off. It’s 8 minutes right now with my current AAS. I think it goes up to like 10 or 15 with like max AA. Uh, it’s again, it’s another short short duration buff that I think should just be baseline to the class. Uh, then we have Kizrid’s skin. uh gives us a nice uh damage absorption for the next three melee hits for 47 times or five minutes. Try to c I try to keep this up as much as I possibly can. I don’t know where it’s at really. It’s on there somewhere. Uh it’s just hard to find the spells, right? Like it’s it’s not the most intuitive buff interface you could possibly imagine, but imagine that it’s there somewhere in this list of spells. Uh and it lasts for, you know, 10 looks like maybe 15 minutes there. All right, so that’s all the spells I use in a normal day. I don’t use any dots, anything because I do a multi-bind uh you know, setup with all my characters and so dots just don’t really fit into that because the damage over time uh will get just constantly re refreshed because they have no recast time. I’ve have these in a very specific order in my multivine so that the refresh times will kind of stagger enough that I can pretty much hit all the way to here spell-wise just by hitting one button. in uh a row. So, uh outside of those spells, the only other spells I cast uh are the AA, Voice of Thul for the extra threat, uh the minion, minion of Fran, uh Fandrell uh for the pet, and then the buff for the pet, gift of Fandrell. Uh if you watch the uh the altogether video, which should have been right before this one, uh maybe yesterday, uh I had the the pet actually tanked a uh a level one A25 mob for a few seconds. So, and didn’t die or come close to dying. So, definitely uh he’s been he’s been buffed. He’s a little bit stronger. He’s a little bit better. He’s ready to go. Uh but uh definitely there. So, let’s see like the only other spells I really cast. All of our self buffs are completely inside of Dark Lord’s Unity. And this is uh one of the spells I kind of focused my all my AAS on early on was maxing out uh Dark Lord’s Unity Asia for the extra life taps. Now, you can do basia and this will do the life uh mana tap stuff, but in all honesty, I do not ever run low enough on mana to even need to cast it. So, uh I feel like it’s just not necessary. And looks like this one’s a free one anyway. So, I didn’t even realize that. Like, I’m doing can purchase and it doesn’t even it doesn’t even show up. All right, so there we go. Uh I do I do the life tabs. I feel like they’re just better for how I play and how that goes. But, uh, with that said, like I I use a lot of clickies though. Now, uh, we have, uh, this one here. Does it not have an upgrade? Let’s sort by level just in case I’m totally out outdated on this one. Uh, I don’t click this one at all. So, this is a 14. There is no update to it. All right. So, Spiderman. Uh this is an older one obviously but it does not have does not look like it has an update that I saw when I went to you know COV to the outer brood level of uh stuff increases our uh it decreases our melee damage but lowers our targets armor class and heals us. It’s kind of nice, you know, when you need it, but I haven’t really needed it. Uh scourge skin. try to cast this when I can. Just adds an extra 5,000 point damage shield. Uh, currently, I don’t have it there. I think it’s about 17,000 point damage shield with the mage at the moment in our intense hatred AA, which gives us more uh damage shield uh stuff. So, it’s pretty nice deflection. This is a level 59 AA, but I always keep it up. Uh, this will pretty much save your life in most situations. Requires a shield in your hand, so you’re going to want that. And then we got our first of uh three uh kind of short-term uh defensive abilities, if you will. So, Geomminius Mantle, this is the level 123 version. Uh absorbs 30 35% of incoming damage for 1 minute, but it will last for uh 4.0 million 4 million damage. I was going to say the 35,000, but I just I couldn’t do it. And then uh when it uh when it wears off, you get a 60,000 point heal. So, it’s pretty nice to have. Uh I I I like to use this in situations where there’s like one or two mobs that are, you know, hitting harder than I would expect, like a named uh or, you know, you get a a little group of stuff, you know. Next up, we have Kanghammer’s Carropos. Uh this line is, you know, pretty long line of spells, right? So, this is just the current version of it. This absorbs 20% of the incoming damage, but it gives us 424 armor class and it will uh I guess drains health on attack too. Now, I guess I didn’t notice that last time. Uh 8,800 life tap for 2 minutes and uh it will last for 1.9 million damage or 32 times. So, whatever comes first. Uh mantle is the more defensive option. And then we have corrupted guardian stance which has been updated since 117. I guess it’ll get updated in the next expansion maybe. Uh this one uh gives us a different fighting style as it says there. It reduces our melee damage a lot but reduces the damage we take a lot. So it’s kind of a you know you give up damage to take less damage. It’s more you know pretty tanky, right? Uh, it also causes our defensive skills to grant us a 4,100 life tap. So, every time we dodge, block, parry, or whatever else we got, it’s going to lifet. So, it’s a nice little thing there uh to keep us going through certain situations, but, you know, just depends. Uh, perfected in group invisibility. I don’t use it as much since I have a bard and the bar can do double in viz, but it’s there just in case I need it. Vis of Death uh just gives us a 265% bonus to our melee damage. Uh definitely nice there. You can if you if you paired it with twoander, you’d probably get a lot more damage out of it. Uh and decay. This is increases the base damage of our damage over time spells. Now, I don’t really cast any of those, but if it did, you would be a mini necromancer for a little short bit amount of time. And then we have in uh influence. This is this one is uh on the same timer as Carpass. So it is you know situational, right? This one increases our armor class, absorbs 20% of incoming melee damage. It triggers this reward here which will damage our target for 10,000 hit points returning that as health up to 27,000. and casts uh uh increases the pet melee damage for 6 seconds at the same time. Also heals the group for 8,200. Uh different type of uh defensive there like if you compare the two since they’re on the same timer, 20% for 1 1.9 million, uh 20% for 1.3 million or 48 life taps. So it just depends on what you’re looking for. Uh they’re the exact same timer times and duration. Uh influence is less costly though for endurance. And I always go for car box. I don’t know. I I just that’s what I click on. That’s what I go for. And then we have Reaver’s Bargain. I don’t use this very much. I hear it’s really good. Maybe when I max it out it’ll be better. Uh the problem is is once it wears off, it takes all your resources and uh and it wears off if you lose all your resources. I just feel like that’s kind of counterproductive to how I play. Um it it makes you way more, you know, durable, right? You know, you can go negative 70,000 plus hit points, absorbs 5% of your incoming damage as mana and stuff like that. I mean, it seems like it would it’s pretty good, but I truly don’t even use it. Uh, I probably should since I’m always full mana, but I just don’t use it right now. Uh, maybe longterm I’ll figure out a way I can enter it, you know, put it into my my play style, but just right now it doesn’t fit into that. All right. Uh, let’s talk about the multivine. So, in every episode, I talk about this. First button is my hide corpse button and my auto inventory button. Then I got my snare AA and then my multi-bind button here. Attack on a pet attack pet swarm merc assist. So in one button, a lot of things are going on. Now this is on four and this is on five. It’s the same button. We go over here to my keybinds uh hot bar six. You can see that every single button on this bar is bound to four and it’s also bound to five. What does that mean? That means when I push a button, it’s multibbound. So, if I push for uh let me turn off the other characters. Yeah, is Boxer’s uh key repeat uh key maps thing. Uh I’m going to hit four and that’s all I’m pushing. That’s all I’m pushing right now. And you can see all my AA abilities get activated and I start casting all my spells. And I’m just spamming the button over and over. One action per spell except the AAS. They’re kind of magical and they do whatever the they want. But everything else is one button, one press, one action. Everything goes right. You can see there we’re What are we at here? Right there. Let’s see if we can get to this one. Can we get Bond on there? Uh some of these some of these spells sometimes require bard quick time to be fully activated. There we go. We got Bond. Can we get insidious reputation or uh repetitation reputation? Can we might need the bard for that one, but uh we’ll see here in just a second. No, doesn’t look like we can get it without the bard. Uh doesn’t really matter cuz that’s not really that’s the least important spell. I just have it on there for uh uh cuz I can hit it with a bard quick time going. And sometimes I can hit it otherwise, but just depends. But one button push activates all those. Now, they’re in a very specific order. So I got taunt first. I got grid uh or gird which is the current level uh withstand line. Uh then we do spear. We do bite uh terror uh fang uh touch or dire touch of floron bond and then repudiation. Now I could take terror out and it would probably be you know just be the same you know kind of layout. Um, I’m actually I want to make a m uh um hot button right here that does terror and uh protest on the same button, but I’m just too too lazy to stop to uh do it right now. I have to hit two different buttons to uh get those going. And then we have all the AAS here. Uh Chatter of Bones, which is our swarm pet. Bite of Chaos, which is just another uh kind of like a what is this? A nuke plus a life tap, mana tap. It’s nice. Do it on cooldown. Uh ageless is another uh taunt. A lot of taunts. Uh projection of doom. Another taunt surprisingly. Uh summons a little pet that creates aggro and gives it to me. And then we have incapacitating blade which just is a secondary discipline melee attack. I hit it on cool down. Uh unconditional acrimony. uh which is a another discipline. This is a 10-minute reuse. I pretty much just put in here. Otherwise, you’d put it in like a burn button, maybe. Uh causes your target up to 130 to give you your undivided attention and deals uh 6,800 damage every 6 seconds for 18 seconds and your allies actions generate 90% uh less threat, right? Um, our reflection will increase your hatred uh you generate by 60% and heal you also. So, I mean really it doesn’t matter. I I feel like a 10-minute duration is just spammable. I It really just it’s it’s not going to change in in any of my fights. It does not change anything. If you’re raiding or doing other things, you would probably want to save it for an important situation, but I don’t do any of that. I just play with my own characters and uh it works that way. Uh incarding blade, which is a uh another melee strike that you get uh through the discipline here. So it strikes the target with three sword attacks with the base damage of that and places you in a rage, increases our spell damage, and gives us haste and all this other stuff, right? Uh now, and it also adds a minimum damage. Now, this this is a 20minute reuse, but I I hit it on cool down because otherwise I probably wouldn’t hit it. Uh when I hit my burns, my job is to stay alive, and the job of everybody else is to kill the mob so I can stay alive and kill it fast. Now, adding all this other stuff into my burn button would possibly delay, you know, then I’d have two buttons, right? cuz this one’s already full. And then I have two buttons. So that’s delaying me from hitting the other important stuff. Putting it in my normal multivine just kick firing it off when I want it off. Uh works out just fine for me. Uh that’s an optimization you can do on your own, but that’s just how I do it. Then we have uh Bill’s uh resolve here. So this will strike your target with three 800 point uh base two-handed damage. Obviously, it’s not max level. it would do more damage at the current level and it just uh free damage. Sorry, I keep yawning. It’s early. And then uh reflexive retribution. This is uh another discipline. Does three two-handed uh three two-handed strikes for you know what, 2,700, giving us uh a group heal of 5600. And then uh we have Orian Bane, which is the Bane for the Outer Brood. It just removes the curse that they put on you and uh gives us what is that? 1% extra melee damage and 2% extra healing damage plus uh 1% extra pet crit for 15 minutes. It’s a nice little thing. Goes up to like six or 8% I think overall once you max out the AA for through doing all the hunters in the outer brood. But it’s nice and it does not affect the multivine, right? Like I see, watch me spamming the button. Everything else is activated, but it’s not. If you go to your like spell failures, you’ll see like the message saying you can’t do it. Uh but I just put it in a window I don’t look at. And we’re happy. So definitely uh works out pretty well there. But that’s my multivine. That’s all I do. I hit these buttons. It’s I mean I I feel like the way I play I can get a a close enough to something like automated, you know, what an automated would do, right? I can get a close enough damage to that. Um and it feels like it’s pretty good. Uh you can do it with one character without any software and just fine. Like the when I play Nomard, the solo uh Shadow Knight I have, I literally play him the exact same way. the same multi-bind. It’s going to be the exact same skills all the way up. Uh he’s going to have more dots in his his his uh lineup than I do, but for the most part, that’s probably the way to go. So, it’s uh it’s just, you know, how I play. It works. Uh then we have harm touch, leech touch, thought touch, or thought leech. Those are just some huge drag damage spells that we get. Uh, four different focuses. I have these three here. Uh, AoE taunts plus the the repudiation if I need to click it on demand. Uh, forceful rejuvenation and shield flash. The forceful resets all the cooldowns. Shield slash protects me. It’s just like uh deflection except it’s an AA. Uh, what is this? Reaper. Oh, that’s that’s from the quest we were doing for the uh Jane’s Veil. Spire of the Reverse is in our bind. If we go here, Spire of the Reverse, Projection of Doom, Forceful Rejuvenation, use the breastplate. Uh breastplate’s right here. Uh I think it’s a life tap. Uh yeah, every time we hit, we get a consuming veil, which does 20 20,000 point heal. Pretty nice. And then we have Bloodringer’s Coding, which is a leech. Um, every melee strike takes 2% melee uh health back to us as a heal. There’s an upgrade, initis shadows that I don’t have yet. So, there’s another one. It’s a white a white drinker’s coding. I can’t remember the name of it. Uh maybe spectral or something like that, but definitely you’d want to pick that up if you uh are so inclined. Uh that’s everything there. Uh so let’s talk about AAS for a little bit here. My focus. So I’m I’m like 30 to 40,000 AAs away from caps. So I’m not even close. This these these characters are all fresh uh 125s, if you will, and they’re not fully geared out. They’re not fully set up yet, right? We’re going to do a follow-up video later on where we show them at max AA and stuff like that, but kind of show this now. Uh, so AA wise, I’m focusing on defensive. Uh, the every point I put into combat stability, I feel like I can live longer and longer and longer. Uh, and with that, as I put points into his uh, defensive, I’m putting points into like the healer’s healing, and I’m putting points into the DPS’s DPS, right? I focus on the core attribute of the class first. I’m a tank. I focus on all the tank abilities. Now, I did pick up uh, Dark Lord’s Unity because that makes things a lot more convenient. puts all these buffs uh current level in a single button and I don’t have to like memorize a bunch of spells and change things out and it’s just so convenient. So that’s worth, you know, it’s like 60 AA per. Definitely worth it to uh save yourself a little heartache there. Uh once I finish defensive, I’m going to go straight into Knight’s Synergy uh and get the last two ranks of this uh which will definitely be a huge upgrade, right? this like 18,000 absorb. It’s very defensive, but it is also, you know, two, you know, 400. This can be 400 AAS to finish that out. Uh whereas I can grab, you know, these ranks here. I can get four ranks of combat stability. Uh which are going to be increasing my armor class by 1% per. You know, we’re at what? Almost well, with all the buffs going, we can hit almost uh almost 12,000 AA once like everything’s on there. There’s 12,000 right there instantly with uh uh pro petition of power. So, definitely uh something to consider there. Uh once I finish all the defensive AAs, which is combat stability, agility, uh armor of wisdom, general sturdiness, natural durability, once I finish all of those and all the defensives and you know, archetype and class, anything defensive based, right? Uh then I’ll focus on offensive stuff. Until then, I I don’t really need it. I I feel like I’m at this point. Uh if you watch the the previous video, obviously we can kill names in the final zone of the game uh right now with not without any issue. So speaking of that, let’s bring in the the parse from that. All right, so we went to uh uh Harbinger Spire, which is the last zone of the outer burden, right? There’s two names to spawn uh pretty much all the time. And you can see here Hobbs Hobbs damage on the first one which there was a kurfuffle uh during that fight and like Nomard was doing nothing for some reason and some other issues that had me you know not doing as much as I wanted to but he he did 57,000 on that. Now, if we take all the trash that we fought during that during Oh, no, it’s not there. Right here. Uh during that encounter, right? He’s about Come on, give it to me here. Take out the named. He’s about what? 538,000. So, he’s about 538,000 DPS currently. Uh which I feel like is pretty good. Most of the damage comes from his melee strikes. uh tanking summary. No, TPS breakdown right here. So, most most of his his damage comes from his melee strikes. So, increasing our melee damage is going to be very beneficial to us to, you know, make us do a lot more damage. I feel like once we max out AAS, I think his passive uh his damage is going to be to probably about 750 maybe 800 or higher,000 damage. And that’s that’s going to be like he’s got Laurian song raid weapons right now. I would assume if I can get outer brood raid weapons, his damage will be maybe baseline a million. And uh that would definitely be where he is at max AA and you know comparable gear to uh you know the max level. Uh but you know right now it’s not so bad. And then on this boss here, so this is uh the second boss, the one that fain deaths you. He was at 419 uh DPS. Now, I think I activated burns on this, but obviously uh I think he got fain death when I was switching around characters and stuff, and so he lost a few rounds, but not too bad. Overall, he’s got a 40% crit chance. Uh yeah, he’s Yeah, 40% crit chance. It’s insane. Like, absolutely insane. Um I did I I didn’t even notice that stat before. Let me look here. Let me see what the stat was on all the uh trash. Uh see here. 39%. So he’s got about a 40% crit chance on average. So that’s currently where we’re at right now. But that’s with 250 uh lucky uh lucky stat 259. So definitely nice. Uh see here gearwise, uh the best gear you can get groupwise right now would be the outer brood. uh tier three trade skill gear. It’s about equivalent to this Knight of Shadows raid gear uh give or take. Uh I think it’s like 16,000 uh unbuffed and that’s about what this is without the aux and stuff in it. Uh the uh raid stuff has more AC. It’s about 33% better than everything from what I could tell. Uh but you’re going to want that. You’re also going to want the war sword and you’re going to want the tower shield. Uh, if you’re on FV and they try to sell you the non-tower shield, don’t buy it because if you’re a tank, you don’t want the nontowwer shield. Like, I don’t know. I was when I was trying to buy uh extra stuff, they were uh they kept trying to sell me that, you know, the the dumb uh the dumb multiclass shield, not the the tank shield. It’s about 100 AC difference, so you’re definitely going to want this one when you’re doing it. Uh, you know, get whatever you can get. Uh, I have all the other ones on Holderidge. I don’t have them on this guy right now, but uh the uh the group one is they’re they’re about comparable to this uh the current, you know, the Night of Shadows tier raid gear. So, it it’s pretty good. You’re going to also want to pick up your necklace uh from Laurian Song if you don’t have it. You’re going to want to pick up your ring from uh the Outer Brood if you don’t have it. Maybe your cloak from Night of Shadows if you don’t have it. I don’t have it. I don’t have those either. Uh I just haven’t I haven’t put any effort into going back and doing Night of Shadows yet, but uh definitely uh something worth doing. Uh see here, what else do we need to talk about? Uh I think that’s it. Like I’m I don’t know why that group button move. Oh, yeah. I moved it over. All right. I don’t know if there’s anything else to really talk about. AAS gear. Uh yeah, that’s about it. So, if there’s any questions or comments, please let me know. If there’s uh something you think I missed, let me know and I’ll uh make sure I cover it in the next uh update. So, we I do plan on doing an update to this character, right? Uh before the next expansion, but after Extra Life, cuz I feel like at Extra Life is when I should be max AA. I should be able to get him max AA uh along with everybody else in the group by then. Uh I am going to be spinning up a warrior on him and be doing that and trying to get that to 125 before extra life. Uh as a little challenge myself, but uh we’ll see how that goes. But uh I I am uh you know pretty much done with the character except for uh you know leveling him up to max AA and uh leveling I will level it to 130 whenever that expansion comes out. So, we’ll have updated 130 Shadow Knight guide also. But there we go. Thank you very much for watching and please have a fantastic Yeah.
